Crystal and molecular structure of 17α,21-dihydroxy-1,4-pregnadiene-3,20-dione

The title compound 17α,21-dihydroxy-1,4-pregnadiene-3,20-dione crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group P 2₁2₁2₁ with four molecules in the unit cell and the lattice parameters a = 7.727, b = 10.095, c = 22.876 Å. The crystal structure was determined by direct methods and refined by full matrix least squares calculations up to the discrepancy factor R = 0.048.
