| Abstract: | A quantitative assessment is presented of the actual possibility of detecting soft gluon interference effects in experimental studies of jets. It is found that the effects are too small to be appreciated in calorimetric data, and that in general their magnitude is well within the uncertainties associated with the choice of the parton mass cutoff, needed in perturbative calculations. |
