Volume efficiency correction factor determination for gamma spectrometry using 82Br

An easy experimental method for volume efficiency correction factor determination in gamma spectrometry was evolved in this work using ⁸²Br volume samples. The ⁸²Br point sample was diluted successively to form cylindrical samples of different volumes. The gamma spectra of these samples were measured before and after dilution for different sample—detector spacing. The theoretical basis of this method is simple. The volume efficiency dependence on the radius and height was determined.
