Abstract: | The crystal and molecular structures of bismuth(III) dimethyldithioarsinate, Bi(S2AsMe2)2, were investigated by X-ray diffraction. The compound is a centrosymmetric dimer in which pentagonal-bipyramidal monomeric units are associated through secondary Bi–S interactions. The structure is compared with that of the analogous dithiophosphinate, Bi(S2PMe2)2. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. |
