| Abstract: | In the presence of tert-butyl iodide, alkyl azides are converted into the corresponding iodides at room temperature, whereas, N-t-Bu anilines are obtained from aryl azides under the same experimental conditions. A mechanism is proposed to explain this unusual reactivity. |
