| Abstract: | The distribution of the karst terraces and basin levels in the area of red soil known as the red clay is the product of a high-degreed weathering and leaching,conditioned for a long time by tropical and subtropical climate in the late Tertiary to Quaternary Pleistocene.In the present hot and rainy tropical climate of South Asia,under the effect of leaching of red soil in a high state to continue developing into a base of highly unsaturated,acidic,low organic content,soil fertility is poor.The red clay of the slope in karst hills and valleys,rich in calcium and magnesium,is undergoing the development of the repeated formation of decalcified limestone soil or re-calcified red clay,which is due to karst water and leaching of calcium deposition complex.This is widespread in the peaks-valleys and valley terraces of Laituan,Banli and Bapen in the white-headed langur reserve of Chongzuo,Guangxi. |
