| Abstract: | The benzene ring in indoles has been aminomethylated in high yield by reaction with methylolphthalimide followed by hydrazinolysis of the phthalimidomethyl derivatives. In the hydrazinolysis of one of the phthalimidomethyl compounds, an intermediate product (the amino-methylindole phthalazine) was isolated and characterized.Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 9, 1218–1221, September, 1985. |
