Abstract: | Summary A new chelating resin containing thioacetamide incorporated into the weakly acidic polymeric matrix Amberlite IRC-50, has been synthesised and investigated for its metal exchange characteristics. Among the various cations studied, copper(II) was found to have the highest capacity. On the basis of experimental results, the resin was employed for the separation and preconcentration of copper from several synthetic mixtures and also from a few analysed alloy samples. |
