Abstract:
The paper is concerned with the question as to how far low-frequency electric fields exert an influence on the crystallization process. The results for a glass of the composition 75 mol.% BaO---TiO2, 19 mol.% SiO2, 6 mol.% Al2O3 show that the samples which are influenced by electric fields have a higher degree of crystallization than the electrically uninfluenced samples under well-defined annealing conditions.
