Abstract: | Surface formate and acetate species obtained by the reaction of formic and acetic acid with preadsorbed oxygen on Cu(100) have been studied by angle-scanned photoelectron diffraction. Our results are clearly indicative of molecules oriented with their planes parallel to the (011) and (01̄1) planes of the copper crystal. |
