| Abstract: | Hafnocene dichloride was reduced with amalgamated magnesium in the presence of alkynes giving high yields of di-η5-cyclopentadienylhafnacyclopentadienes. Reaction with hydrochloric acid yields exclusively the corresponding (E,E)-butadiene derivatives. |
