Abstract: | Abstract Block copolymers composed of a polyether, such as poly(oxytetra-methylene), and vinyl polymers, such as polystyrene, poly(methyl methacrylate), poly(butyl acrylate), and poly(vinyl acetate), were prepared by photopolymerizations of vinyl monomers initiated with a polyether macroiniferter, α - (diethyldithiocarbamylacetyl) - ω - (diethyldithiocar-bamylacetoxy)-poly(oxytetramethylene). ESR spectroscopy and end-group analysis of diethyldithiocarbamyl indicated that block copolymers should be predominantly ABA-type copolymers. The block copolymers were characterized in detail by NMR, GPC, and DSC analysis. |
