| Abstract: | Herein, we describe the first asymmetric total synthesis of (-)-martinelline ((-)-2) and the second total synthesis of (-)-martinellic acid ((-)-1) by employing a tandem Mukaiyama-Mannich reaction/aminal cyclization as the key step. |
