| Abstract: | A combination of "chiron" and "asymmetric" approaches is utilized to construct the southern (C 9-C 25) region of marine natural product spirastrellolide B. The key functionalities are derived from d-glucose and Sharpless asymmetric epoxidation and dihydroxylation. |
