The single-polarization filter composed of gold-coated photonic crystal fiber

A single-polarization filter comprising a gold-coated photonic crystal fiber based on surface plasmon resonance is designed and investigated. The pattern matching and coupled polarization characteristics analyzed by the full-vector finite element method (FEM) and losses at 1,540 nm are achieved to 1,016.01739 dB/cm (x-pol core mode) and 33.81917 dB/cm (y-pol core mode). The crosstalk (CT) value of the 1,540 nm band is ?853.12653 dB for fiber length $L=1,000\mathrm{\mu }\text{m}$ and the bandwidth is 850 nm. The working wavelength of the filter ranges from 1,280 nm to 1,540 nm by varying the diameter of outer air holes ($d_1$), the diameter of inner air holes ($d_4$), the metal film thickness (t), as well as the liquid refractive index (n).     

Enhancing signal-to-noise ratio and resolution in low-field NMR relaxation measurements using post-acquisition digital filters

The traditional way to enhance signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) signals is to increase the number of scans. However, this procedure increases the measuring time that can be prohibitive for some applications. Therefore, we have tested the use of several post-acquisition digital filters to enhance SNR up to one order of magnitude in time domain NMR (TD-NMR) relaxation measurements. The procedures were studied using continuous wave free precession (CWFP-T₁) signals, acquired with very low flip angles that contain six times more noise than the Carr–Purcell–Meiboom–Gill (CPMG) signal of the same sample and experimental time. Linear (LI) and logarithmic (LO) data compression, low-pass infinity impulse response (LP), Savitzky–Golay (SG), and wavelet transform (WA) post-acquisition filters enhanced the SNR of the CWFP-T₁ signals by at least six times. The best filters were LO, SG, and WA that have high enhancement in SNR without significant distortions in the ILT relaxation distribution data. Therefore, it was demonstrated that these post-acquisition digital filters could be a useful way to denoise CWFP-T₁, as well as CPMG noisy signals, and consequently reducing the experimental time. It was also demonstrated that filtered CWFP-T₁ method has the potential to be a rapid and nondestructive method to measure fat content in beef and certainly in other meat samples.     

Hybrid SVM／HMM Method for Face Recognition

A face recognition system based on Support Vector Machine(SVM) and Hidden Markov Model (HMM) has been proposed. The powerful discriminative ability of SVM is combined with the temporal modeling ability of HMM. The output of SVM is moderated to be probability output, which replaces the Mixture of Gauss (MOG) in HMM. Wavelet transformation is used to extract observation vector, which reduces the data dimension and improves the robustness.The hybrid system is compared with pure HMM face recognition method based on ORL face database and Yale face database. Experiments results show that the hybrid method has better performance.

Wavelet Collocation Methods for a First Kind Boundary Integral Equation in Acoustic Scattering

In this paper we consider a wavelet algorithm for the piecewise constant collocation method applied to the boundary element solution of a first kind integral equation arising in acoustic scattering. The conventional stiffness matrix is transformed into the corresponding matrix with respect to wavelet bases, and it is approximated by a compressed matrix. Finally, the stiffness matrix is multiplied by diagonal preconditioners such that the resulting matrix of the system of linear equations is well conditioned and sparse. Using this matrix, the boundary integral equation can be solved effectively.     

燃料添加剂对柴油机烟粒燃烧的影响

考察了燃料添加剂对降低柴油机烟粒燃点温度的效应。含金属添加剂的柴油机烟粒被收集在金属纤维过滤器上,把原状烟粒样品移入实验室反应器,用模拟柴油机排气进行燃烧试验。实验结果表明,当烟粒中含有Pd或Cu时,烟粒的燃点温度可降至430℃左右(普通柴油机烟粒的燃点温度约600℃);Pd的添加还可大大降低烟粒一次燃烧产物中CO的分率。文中还对金属(催化剂)/烟粒接触程度和添加剂溶液中可燃性部分对烟粒燃烧的影响作了讨论。     

COMPACT COUPLED LINEAR TAPERED LINE BANDPASS FILTER WITH TWO TRANSMISSION ZEROS

A new compact bandpass filter composed of two coupled linear tapered line resonators (LTLRs) is designed. The two resonators are arranged in different layers. The filter has two transmission zeros on both sides of the passband. It has small size and steep response below its passband. It is also shown that this filter has 0.6 dB low insertion loss at the centre frequency and 10.5% 3dB bandwidth. 全光纤反射式马赫曾德尔干涉型多波长滤波器的研究

对反射式的马赫－曾德尔干涉型多波长滤波器的性能作了较详细的研究，得出了两个耦合器的分光比和两臂的臂长差对其输出谱线的影响，结论对设计制作不同性能指标的该型多波长滤波器具有重要的参考价值。实验上用光纤熔融拉锥法制作了该种器件，实验结果与理论相符合。     

双折射滤光片的色散特性研究

研究了由理想线偏振片和单轴双折射晶体波片组成的双折射滤光片倾斜放置时的二阶色散和 三阶色散特性，包括波片厚度、光线入射角和光轴旋转角的变化对二阶和三阶色散的影响. 还给出了双折射滤光片的群延迟表达式，并就色散特性与GT干涉仪进行了详细比较. 关键词： 双折射滤光片 群延迟 二阶色散 三阶色散
