Automotive proton-exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) have finally reached a state of technological readiness where several major automotive companies are commercially leasing and selling fuel cell electric vehicles, including Toyota, Honda, and Hyundai. These now claim vehicle speed and acceleration, refueling time, driving range, and durability that rival conventional internal combustion engines and in most cases outperform battery electric vehicles. The residual challenges and areas of improvement which remain for PEMFCs are performance at high current density, durability, and cost. These are expected to be resolved over the coming decade while hydrogen infrastructure needs to become widely available. Here, we briefly discuss the status of automotive PEMFCs, misconceptions about the barriers that platinum usage creates, and the remaining hurdles for the technology to become broadly accepted and implemented. 相似文献

Summary An equilibrium sandwich chamber for continuous thinlayer chromatography was used to study overloaded systems of the heptane + methylene chloride-silica type. Mixtures of two or three dyes were used as the model samples. Wide starting zones were formed using a glass distributor (frontal chromatography stage), then the movement of the zones was recorded during continuous elution. The effect of sample concentration and volume on the maximum separation yield was investigated. Band compression effects are illustrated for samples dissolved in solvents having a low eluent strength. Satisfactory analogy was found to separations in preparative column chromatography. Good separation yield was obtained for frontal + elution TLC: depending on the differences in the RF values of the components, 6–16 mg samples were completely separated on 0.5×100×75 mm layers containing ca. 1 g of silica.Presented at the Eighth International Symposium on Liquid Chromatography, Baden-Baden, 3–7 May 1983. 相似文献

In this paper, two heuristic optimization techniques are tested and compared in the application of motion planning for autonomous agricultural vehicles: Simulated Annealing and Genetic Algorithms. Several preliminary experimentations are performed for both algorithms, so that the best neighborhood definitions and algorithm parameters are found. Then, the two tuned algorithms are run extensively, but for no more than 2000 cost function evaluations, as run-time is the critical factor for this application. The comparison of the two algorithms showed that the Simulated Annealing algorithm achieves the better performance and outperforms the Genetic Algorithm. The final optimum found by the Simulated Annealing algorithm is considered to be satisfactory for the specific motion planning application. 相似文献

The application and the performance of the neighboring optimal feedback scheme presented in Part 1 of this paper is demonstrated for the heating-constrained cross-range maximization problem of a space-shuttle-orbiter-type vehicle. An electrical equivalent circuit model for lithium-ion batteries used for hybrid electric vehicles (HEV) is presented. The model has two RC networks characterizing battery activation and concentration polarization process. The parameters of the model are identified using combined experimental and extended Kalman filter (EKF) recursive methods. The open-circuit voltage and ohmic resistance of the battery are directly measured and calculated from experimental measurements, respectively. The rest of the coupled dynamic parameters, i.e. the RC network parameters, are estimated using the EKF method. Experimental and simulation results are presented to demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed circuit model and parameter identification techniques for simulating battery dynamics. 相似文献

A 100Ah@42V lead-acid battery package for electric vehicles are used for study. The hybrid pulse test is applied to the battery package to acquire enough data, by which the partnership for a new generation of vehicles (PNGV) equivalent circuit model parameters are identified by the least square method. Then, the PNGV model is verified under two conditions, i.e., the composite pulse excitation and the constant-current respectively. The corresponding maximum relative errors of output voltage are less than 3% and 3.5%. We analyze the competition between an electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer and an internal combustion vehicle manufacturer, under a government's subsidy scheme that provides a per-unit subsidy to the EV manufacturer or a price discount subsidy to EV consumers. The government should adopt the per-unit subsidy scheme, because, compared to the price-discount scheme, the government under the per-unit scheme can achieve the same EV sales and social welfare but pay for a smaller total subsidy. 相似文献
