Image-based gait analysis as a means of biometric identification has attracted much research attention. Most of the existing methods focus on human identification, posture analysis and movement tracking. There have been few investigations on measuring the carried load based on the carrier's gait characteristics by automatic image processing. Nevertheless, this measurement is very useful in a number of applications, such as the study of the carried load on the postural development of children and adolescence. In this paper, we investigate how to automatically estimate the carried weight from a sequence of images. We present a method to extract human gait silhouette based on an observation that humans tend to minimize the energy during motion. We compute several angles of body leaning and determine the relationship of the carried weight, the leaning angles and the centroid location according to a human kinetic study. Our weight determination method has been verified successfully by experiments. 相似文献

Summary Several data can be presented as interval curves where intervals reflect a within variability. In particular, this representation
is well adapted for load profiles, which depict the electricity consumption of a class of customers. Electricity load profiling
consists in assigning a daily load curve to a customer based on their characteristics such as energy requirement. Within the
load profiling scope, this paper investigates the extension of multivariate regression trees to the case of interval dependent
(or response) variables. The tree method aims at setting up simultaneously load profiles and their assignment rules based
on independent variables. The extension of multivariate regression trees to interval responses is detailed and a global approach
is defined. It consists in a first stage of a dimension reduction of the interval response variables. Thereafter, the extension
of the tree method is applied to the first principal interval components. Outputs are the classes of the interval curves where
each class is characterized both by an interval load profile (e.g. the class prototype) and an assignment rule based on the

On the ground of the ferrohydrodynamic model proposed by Shliomis and , the present study investigates the influences of fluid inertia forces on the ferrofluid squeeze film between a sphere and a plate in the presence of external magnetic fields. According to the results, the effects of fluid inertia forces enhance the load capacity and prolong the approaching time for the ferrofluid sphere–plate system. In this paper, the impact of a path selection on other existing paths in optical burst switching (OBS) networks is studied by analyzing the contention among different traffic streams and the interaction between the route selection and traffic load balance. The results show that there exists a mutual reinforcement interaction among the traffic load of a path, the path burst loss ratio and the contention ability of the path when burst loss ratio based multi-path selection strategies are adopted, which may increase the unbalance of traffic and lead to severe congestion further. A maximum-efficiency-first multi-path selection strategy, which considers the performance of the burst flows and the impact of a path selection on existing OBS paths at the same time by a combined metric of route efficiency, is proposed to maximize the utility of the burst flows and minimize the increment of lost throughput on the path. The performance of the proposed multi-path selection strategy is evaluated through simulation. The results show that the presented strategy obviously outperforms the least burst loss ratio strategy and shortest path first strategy in terms of the burst loss ratio in the practical unbalanced background traffic, especially when the network is heavily loaded. 相似文献
