We reconsider the procedure
developed for atoms a few decades ago by Girardeau, in the light of
the composite-boson many-body theory we recently proposed. The
Girardeau's procedure makes use of a so called “unitary Fock-Tani
operator” which in an exact way transforms one composite bound
atom into one bosonic “ideal” atom. When used to transform the
Hamiltonian of interacting atoms, this operator generates an extremely
complex set of effective scatterings between ideal bosonic atoms and free
fermions which makes the transformed Hamiltonian impossible to write
explicitly, in this way forcing to some truncation. The scatterings
restricted to the ideal-atom subspace are shown to read rather simply in
terms of the two elementary scatterings of the composite-boson many-body
theory, namely, the energy-like direct interaction scatterings
— which describe fermion interactions without fermion exchange — and
the dimensionless Pauli scatterings — which describe fermion exchanges
without fermion interaction. We here show
that, due to a fundamental difference in the scalar products of
elementary and composite bosons, the Hamiltonian expectation
value for N ground state atoms
obtained by staying in the ideal-atom subspace and working
with boson operators only, differ from the exact ones even for N = 2 and
a mapping to the ideal-atom subspace performed, as advocated, from
the fully antisymmetrical atomic state, i.e., the state which obeys the
so-called “subsidiary condition”. This shows that, within this
Girardeau's procedure too, we cannot completely forget the underlying
fermionic components of the particles if we want to correctly describe

利用玻色湮没算符的逆算符-a∧1及玻色产生算符a∧ 分别作用于压缩真空态来构造增光子压缩真空态,并对它们的压缩特性进行了讨论.结果表明,a-∧1作用于压缩真空态所得到的增光子压缩真空态不产生压缩效应,而a∧ 作用于压缩真空态所得到的增光子压缩真空态则产生压缩效应,其压缩区间与压缩参数的取值有关.从而显示了增光子压缩真空态的压缩特性与算符a-∧1及a∧ 之间的密切关系. 相似文献

We provide a mixing model to explore the metastable state
and the macroscopic quantum tunneling (MQT) of binary mixtures. For , we first observe the two condensates form the
symmetry-breaking state (SBS) and then suddenly transfer to the
symmetry-preserving state (SPS) through the MQT. The SBS is shown to be the
metastable state in our system. We find the MQT does not spontaneously
arise. The inducement mechanism is the damping but not the excitations. The
damping mechanism can also control the lifetime and the tunneling decay rate
of the SBS. Finally, we further present the origin of these phenomena by

We analyze the free boson gas on a Cayley tree using two alternative methods. The spectrum of the lattice Laplacian on a finite tree is obtained using a direct iterative method for solving the associated characteristic equation and also using a random walk representation for the corresponding fermion lattice gas. The existence of the thermodynamic limit for the pressure of the boson lattice gas is proven and it is shown that the model exhibits boson condensation into the ground state. The random walk representation is also used to derive an expression for the Bethe approximation to the infinite-volume spectrum. This spectrum turns out to be continuous instead of a dense point spectrum, but there is still boson condensation in this approximation. 相似文献

In the absence of losses the phase of a Bose-Einstein condensate undergoes collapses and revivals in time due to elastic atomic
interactions. As experiments necessarily involve inelastic collisions, we develop a model to describe the phase dynamics of
the condensates in presence of collisional losses. We find that a few inelastic processes are sufficient to damp the revivals of the phase. For this reason the observability of phase revivals for present experimental
conditions is limited to condensates with a few hundreds of atoms.

We investigate the relative phase coherence properties and the occurrence of demixing instabilities for two mutually interacting
and time evolving Bose-Einstein condensates in traps. Our treatment naturally includes the additional decoherence effect due
to fluctuations in the total number of particles. Analytical results are presented for the breathe-together solution, an extension
of previously known scaling solution to the case of a binary mixture of condensates. When the three coupling constants describing
the elastic interactions among the atoms in the two states are close to each other, a dramatic increase of the phase coherence
time is predicted. Numerical results are presented for the parameters of the recent JILA experiments.

Summary Going on with a research started in a previous paper, we examine carefully Putterman's system of superfluid hydrodynamic equations,
assuming as viewpoint the theory of quasi-linear hyperbolic symmetric systems with constraints. We prove that such a system
is always hyperbolic. It can be put in a symmetric form, provided suitable thermodynamic conditions, ensuring the convexity
of the entropy function, hold.
Riassunto Si approfondisce l'esame, iniziato in un precedente lavoro, del sistema di equazioni idrodinamiche del superfluido di Putterman dal punto di vista della teoria dei sistemi quasi lineari iperbolici simmetrici e con vincoli. Si dimostra che tale sistema è sempre iperbolico e può essere posto in forma simmetrica quando siano soddisfatte opportune condizioni termodinamiche che assicurano la convessità della funzione entropia.
Резюме Углубляется начатое в одной из предыдущих работ исследование системы гидродинамических уравнений супержидкости Паттермана с точки зрения теории систем квазилинейных гиперболических симметрических и со связями. Доказывается, что такая система является всегда гиперболической и может быть приведена к симметрической форме, когда выполнены соответствующие термодинамические условия, обеспечивающие вьшуклость функции энергии.相似文献
