Size Effect of the Immediate Surround for the Border between the Natural and Unnatural Object Color Appearance

The border luminance of the test stimulus between the natural and unnatural object color, y_ynB_u was obtained for different spatial sizes of the immediate surround to prove that _nB_u can be determined based on a new recognized visual space of illumination (RVSI) that is assumed to be constructed for the immediate surround separately from the RVSI for the subjects room itself. The _nB_u of five test stimuli were determined for six different sizes covering from zero to 1866 cm² with four different lightnesses, N4, N6 and N8, while keeping the room illuminance constant at 100 or 600 lx. The results showed that luminance of the border _nB_u gradually decreased as the size of the immediate surround was increased and that the decrease was larger for immediate surround with lower lightness. The results were interpreted as showing a new RVSI constructed for the spatial extent of the immediate surround of the test stimulus, and the RVSI was more completely constructed for larger spatial size of the immediate surround. © 2005 The Optical Society of Japan

3D视音频技术综述

随着2009年底卡梅隆导演的《阿凡达》影片的热映,三维立体(3D Stereo)显示技术成为目前火热的技术之一,通过左右眼信号分离,在显示平台上能够实现的立体图像显示。立体显示是VR虚拟现实的一个实现沉浸交互的方式之一,3D(3 dimensional)立体显示可以把图像的纵深,层次,位置等细节全部展现,观察者更直观地了解图像的现实分布状况,从而更全面了解图像或显示内容的信息。为了配合3D立体视觉环境,介绍了3D音频技术,它是未来的一个趋势,并且对3D音频技术的基本理论、声学特点和发展状况等给出了看法。

以环绕声前方三声道全指向阵列系统为对象,研究声源入射角度与重放声像定位之间的关系。在对理想状态下的阵列系统做出分析的基础上,阐述声道间的串音、声源到传声器之间强度差、频率等因素如何使声像发生畸变。进而讨论为避免声像畸变,如何在实际录音过程中对传声器阵列系统进行调整。     

Change in motor cortex activation for muscle release by motor learning

For central nervous system disorders'' rehabilitation, it is important to accurately understand motor control and implement an appropriate motor learning process to induce neuroplastic changes. The neurophysiological studies have revealed that neural control mechanisms are crucial during both the onset of muscular activities and muscle release after contraction. When performing various movements during daily activities, muscle relaxation control enables precise force output and timing control. Moreover, surround inhibition is a functional mechanism in the motor system. Surround inhibition of the motor system may be involved in the selective execution of desired movements. This review demonstrates cortical excitability resulting from motor learning, movement control mechanisms including muscle relaxation and the suppression of nontarget muscle groups, and the voluntary drive''s importance that is required for movement.
