We have demonstrated feasibility to form silicon-on-insulator (SOI) substrates using plasma immersion ion implantation (PIII)
for both separation by implantation of oxygen and ion-cut. This high throughput technique can substantially lower the high
cost of SOI substrates due to the simpler implanter design as well as ease of maintenance. For separation by plasma implantation
of oxygen wafers, secondary ion mass spectrometry analysis and cross-sectional transmission electron micrographs show continuous
buried oxide formation under a single-crystal silicon overlayer with sharp Si/SiO2 interfaces after oxygen plasma implantation and high-temperature (1300°C) annealing. Ion-cut SOI wafer fabrication technique
is implemented for the first time using PIII. The hydrogen plasma can be optimized so that only one ion species is dominant
in concentration and there are minimal effects by other residual ions on the ion-cut process. The physical mechanism of hydrogen
induced silicon surface layer cleavage has been investigated. An ideal gas law model of the microcavity internal pressure
combined with a two-dimensional finite element fracture mechanics model is used to approximate the fracture driving force

In the first part we prove an extension of the Chern-Lashof inequality for noncompact immersed manifolds with finitely many ends. For this we give a lower bound of the total absolute curvature in terms of topological invariants of the manifold. In the second part we discuss tightness properties for such immersions. Finally, we give an upper bound for the substantial codimension.

Summary This work shows the result of the study of the Pb(II) and Cr(VI) ions adsorption by means of a Calvet type calorimeter of heat conduction that can operate at 150şC. The calorimeter was electrically calibrated to establish its sensitivity and reproducibility, obtaining K=12.95±0.05 W V-1 and chemically it was examined with tris-(hydroxymethyl)-aminomethane (THAM)-HCl system, obtaining ΔH= -30.91±0.03 kJ mol-1. This work presents the selective and simultaneous separation of nickel (Ni2+) and gold ([Au(CN)2]−) ions, in trace amounts, from alkaline solution via hollow fiber supported liquid membrane (HFSLM) technique. HFSLM is challengingly carried out in real rinse wastewater generated by the ENIG plating process. The influence of various chemical parameters, including the type of extractant and their concentrations, molar ratios of mixed extractant as well as type of strippant, are also studied. The organophosphorus extractant mixtures of D2EHPA and TBP provide a synergistic effect for target Ni2+ ions but has an antagonistic effect as regards the extraction of non-target [Au(CN)2]− ions. Compared to other inorganic acids, HCl is seen to be the most suitable strippant for the selective stripping. Results demonstrate that percentages of extraction and stripping of Ni2+ ions achieved 85.7 and 83.2%, respectively. In contrast, percentages of extraction and stripping of non-target [Au(CN)2]− ions attained 15.6 and 1.94%. 相似文献
