We discuss a new concept in lightning location system (LLS). Specitically,it is anoptimum method of lightning signal strength and a parameterization method of the site gaincurve estimation in LLS. Site gain correction curves for all DFs for 1989 were found byusing the data observed in an LLS of three direction finders (DFs) in Beijing region. Theresult shows that the curves, as a function of measured bearing, only include the one- andtwo-cycle sinusoidal components. It also indicates that the larger the site errors which DFhas, the larger the amplitude of the site gain curve. In this LLS, the ranges of site gainare 0.9--1.2, 0.85--1.05, 0.9--1.1 for DF1, DF2 and DF3 respectively. For discussion, we suggested a model for site gains due to dipole radiation. This modelcan be used to reasonably explain the characteristics of structure of site gain curves. 相似文献

In this paper we formulate a continuous-time behavioral (à la cumulative prospect theory) portfolio selection model where the losses are constrained by a pre-specified upper bound. Economically
the model is motivated by the previously proved fact that the losses occurring in a bad state of the world can be catastrophic
for an unconstrained model. Mathematically solving the model boils down to solving a concave Choquet minimization problem with an additional upper bound. We derive the optimal solution explicitly for such a loss control model. The optimal
terminal wealth profile is in general characterized by three pieces: the agent has gains in the good states of the world,
gets a moderate, endogenously constant loss in the intermediate states, and suffers the maximal loss (which is the given bound

The point‐input, point‐output, plantation forest was first studied by Martin Faustmann in the mid‐19th century. The exploitation of a Faustmannian forest involves decisions concerning investments and receipts over time that are qualitatively different from the smooth, convex flows that are usually studied in the economics of accounting. The simple, well understood analysis of the forest has implications for the concept of income in forestry as well as in other industries that are typified by nonconvex decisions. A forest is a salient example of the importance of discrete, irreversible investment, and of the role of price effects (capital gains) in income accounting and, more fundamentally, of perceptions of the “right prices” in economic analysis. 相似文献

In this paper, space-frequency-Doppler coded OFDM (SFDO-OFDM) scheme over the time-varying Doppler fading channels via the time-frequency duality is proposed. Based on the basis expansion model (BEM) and the time-frequency duality, through the circulant matrix diagonalized processing, the nonlinear time-varying Doppler fading channel is dually converted to the virtual frequency-selective linear channels. With OFDM module, subgrouping the subcarriers in OFDM through the block matrix method and fatherly general complex orthogonal coding (GCOD) on each corresponding block subcarriers, SFDO-OFDM codes for the general multiple input multiple output (MIMO) is thus constructed. And concatenating it with the signal constellation precoding, full maximum diversity gains including the inherent Doppler fading are achieved. Theoretical analysis and corroborating simulation results demonstrate that, comparing with existing Doppler coding alternatives, the proposed scheme can effectively and robustly combat the Doppler fading with high bandwidth efficiency and even lower bit error ratio (BER). 相似文献

This paper is concerned with modeling and control of a multicomponent distributed-parameter structure. General results from
the theory of infinitedimensional systems are used to pose an LQR-control problem for the structure. Different variations
of the structure are considered and, in particular, approximation schemes for two forms of the structure are presented in
detail. Responses of the system to an elastic initial condition are presented. It is shown that convergent state feedback
control laws can be obtained which result in significant suppression of vibrations and unwanted displacements throughout the

A noniterative algebraic solution for Riccati equations satisfying two-point boundary-value problems
A noniterative algebraic method is presented for solving differential Riccati equations which satisfy two-point boundary-value problems. This class of numerical problems arises in quadratic optimization problems where the cost functionals are composed of both continuous and discrete state penalties, leading to piecewise periodic feedback gains. The necessary condition defining the solution for the two-point boundary value problem is cast in the form of a discrete-time algebraic Riccati equation, by using a formal representation for the solution of the differential Riccati equation. A numerical example is presented which demonstrates the validity of the approach.The authors would like to thank Dr. Fernando Incertis, IBM Madrid Scientific Center, who reviewed this paper and pointed out that the two-point boundary-value necessary condition could be manipulated into the form of a discrete-time Riccati equation.
