This study analyzes the economics of transshipping biomass from truck to train in a North American setting. Transshipment
will only be economic when the cost per unit distance of a second transportation mode is less than the original mode. There
is an optimum number of transshipment terminals which is related to biomass yield. Transshipment incurs incremental fixed
costs, and hence there is a minimum shipping distance for rail transport above which lower costs/km offset the incremental
fixed costs. For transport by dedicated unit train with an optimum number of terminals, the minimum economic rail shipping
distance for straw is 170 km, and for boreal forest harvest residue wood chips is 145 km. The minimum economic shipping distance
for straw exceeds the biomass draw distance for economically sized centrally located power plants, and hence the prospects
for rail transport are limited to cases in which traffic congestion from truck transport would otherwise preclude project
development. Ideally, wood chip transport costs would be lowered by rail transshipment for an economically sized centrally
located power plant, but in a specific case in Alberta, Canada, the layout of existing rail lines precludes a centrally located
plant supplied by rail, whereas a more versatile road system enables it by truck. Hence for wood chips as well as straw the
economic incentive for rail transport to centrally located processing plants is limited. Rail transshipment may still be preferred
in cases in which road congestion precludes truck delivery, for example as result of community objections. 相似文献

This study investigates the robust output tracking problem for a class of uncertain linear systems. The uncertainties are assumed to be time invariant and to satisfy the matching conditions. According to the selected nominal parameters, an optimal solution with a prescribed degree of stability is determined. Then, an auxiliary input via the use of an adapting factor, connected to the nominal optimal control, is introduced to guarantee the robustness and prescribed degree of stability for the output tracking control of the uncertain linear systems. This method is very simple and effective and can reject bounded uncertainties imposed on the states. A maglev vehicle model example is given to show its effectiveness. 相似文献

Tap water samples (Assiut city, lie in the middle north of upper Egypt, approx. 370 km from Cairo, January-March, 2002) were taken from the eight sampling sites of different locations at Assiut city. The samples are analyzed to determine the total content of cadmium, copper, lead and zinc by differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry (DPASV) while nickel and cobalt are determined by a new simple differential pulse adsorptive stripping voltammetry (DPAdSV), using dimethylglyoxime (DMG) as the complexing agent. This method uses sodium sulfite as the supporting electrolyte, which facilitates the removal of oxygen interference without the traditional necessity of purging with inert gas. The effect of various parameters was studied using DPASV (for Cd, Pb, Cu and Zn) and AdSV (for Ni and Co) methods. Subsequently, under the so found experimental conditions, the stability of calibration curves and the detection limits (μg/l) have been determined. The data achieved (for all metals utility) are comparable to those measured by the graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrophotometric (GF-AAS) method. The effects of the interferences between these metal ions have been investigated. Moreover, the effect of storage was discussed and the obtained results were compared favorably with standard official methods. Statistical analysis of the database exhibits applicability and the accuracy of the techniques. The results obtained from the two techniques (Voltammetry and GF-AAS) are in very good agreements in the most tap water samples. 相似文献

In the partial accessibility constrained vehicle routing problem, a route can be covered by two types of vehicles, i.e. truck or truck + trailer. Some customers are accessible by both vehicle types, whereas others solely by trucks. After introducing an integer programming formulation for the problem, we describe a two-phase heuristic method which extends a classical vehicle routing algorithm. Since it is necessary to solve a combinatorial problem that has some similarities with the generalized assignment problem, we propose an enumerative procedure in which bounds are obtained from a Lagrangian relaxation. Uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs) have become a vital element in nonterrestrial networks, especially with respect to 5G communication systems and beyond. The use of UAVs in support of 4G/5G base station (uncrewed aerial vehicle base station [UAV-BS]) has proven to be a practical solution for extending cellular network services to areas where conventional infrastructures are unavailable. In this study, we introduce a UAV-BS system that utilizes a high-capacity wireless backhaul operating in millimeter-wave frequency bands. This system can achieve a maximum throughput of 1.3 Gbps while delivering data at a rate of 300 Mbps, even at distances of 10 km. 无人机目标检测与识别任务中,目标随着飞行高度的改变尺寸发生显著变化。常规目标检测模型中,获取的小目标细节信息有限,检测精度较低;而适用于小目标的实时检测模型往往容易丢失大目标的背景信息,降低大目标的检测精度。针对以上多尺度目标检测识别任务难点,提出一种基于改进特征金字塔网络(Feature Pyramid Network, FPN)结构的实时多尺度目标检测识别模型。该模型通过增加特征金字塔层级覆盖更广的目标尺度,获取更为丰富的目标信息;同时,利用跨连接增加不同尺度特征融合的多样性,降低特征传导距离,保留更加完整的尺度特征来提高模型检测识别多尺度目标的性能。通过实验发现,相比于原始网络结构和相同特征层级的四层特征金字塔结构,加入改进特征金字塔结构的多尺度目标检测模型识别性能得到了提升。 相似文献
