Energetics of magnesium, strontium, and barium doped lanthanum gallate perovskites

LaGaO₃ perovskites doped with Sr or Ba at the La site and Mg at the Ga site were prepared by solid-state reaction or sol-gel method and characterized. Enthalpies of formation from constituent oxides at 298 K were determined by high-temperature oxide melt solution calorimetry. Energetic trends are discussed in terms of defect chemistry. As oxygen deficiency increases, formation enthalpies define three trends, LaGa_1−yMg_yO_3−δ (LGM), La_1−xSr_xGa_1−yMg_yO_3−δ (LSGM), and La_1−xBa_xGa_1−yMg_yO_3−δ (LBGM). They become less exothermic with increasing doping, suggesting a dominant destabilization effect from oxygen vacancies. The endothermic enthalpy of vacancy formation is 275±37, 166±18 and 138±12 kJ/mol of V_O^·· for LGM, LBGM and LSGM, respectively. Tolerance factor and ion size mismatch also affect enthalpies. In terms of energetics, Sr is the best dopant for the La site and Mg for the Ga site, supporting earlier studies, including oxygen ion conductivity and computer modeling.     

Formation and accumulation of contact deficiencies in a tunnel segmented lining

Damages observed in tunnels constructed with tunnel boring machines affect the overall quality of the structure and the efficiency of the construction process. Most of these damages are caused by contact deficiencies between segments that are generated by the sum of several tolerances on the shape and on the placement of the lining. Moreover, the imperfection of one ring affects the placement of the following ones, inducing an accumulation mechanism that magnifies the imperfection expected due to the sum of tolerances in a single isolated ring. The overall consideration of these phenomena yields an intricate analysis that must take into account some important probabilistic aspects. This paper explains how the tolerances may evolve into the contact deficiencies found in practice. Initially the types of tolerances and contact deficiencies more likely to affect the structural behavior of the lining are analyzed. A mathematical model is proposed to explain the relation between tolerances and contact deficiencies. The predictions obtained with the model are then compared with the measurements performed in the tunnel of Line 9 in Barcelona. The results obtained reinforce the importance of the model proposed in this study, which quantifies aspects that so far could only be studied qualitatively or on a trial and error basis.     

LABVIEW下冲击试验测试信号分析模块的设计

根据GJB冲击环境试验测试要求,介绍LABVIEW平台下两类典型冲击信号分析模块的设计方法,主要讲述利用多图层叠加编程技术实现GJB150.18-1986标准规定的半正弦波与后峰锯齿波动态套容差曲线分析模块的设计以及利用递归算法实现冲击响应谱分析模块的设计。其次,采用资源DLL封装技术对LABVIEW编程实现的冲击信号分析模块进行封装,在其他编程语言中调用DLL实现冲击信号分析模块在其他编程语言中的功能链接。实践表明,LABVIEW图形化编程技术可快速实现两类冲击信号分析模块的设计,将高速数据采集模块与冲击信号分析模块集成,可有效完成冲击试验测试与信号分析处理任务。     

An optimum tolerance region for multivariate regression

A tolerance region is a map from the sample space of one statistical model to the event space of a second statistical model having the same parameter. This paper derives an optimum β-expectation tolerance region for the multivariate regression model. A measure of power is proposed and evaluated.

为了能够有效地分析处理不完备的信息系统，必须对现有的Rough集模型进行扩充。分析研究了现有的几种比较有影响的基于Rough集的扩展关系，提出了一种处理不完备信息系统的约束非对称关系，并对这些扩充关系进行了分析比较。还提出了基于这种关系的上近似和下近似概念，以及正区域、近似精度、近似质量和依赖关系等相关概念。     

Estimating Aluminum leaching from Aluminum cook wares in different meat extracts and milk

A method of estimating Al leaching from Al cook ware in some meat extracts and liquid milk was investigated. In the present work four kinds of Al cook wares from four countries were chosen from the local market. Extracts of boiled meat (lamb, chicken, and fish) were used to make 10–50% (w/v) concentrations. In addition liquid fresh milk and long life milk were diluted to make 10–50% (v/v) concentrations. Weight loss (WL) method, atomic absorption, polarization method, and surface study were applied. The “estimated” Al intake per person from WL in 30% meat extract and milk range from 8.16 to 12.75 mg/h with fish extract having the highest leaching and chicken extract having the lowest leaching. Atomic absorption gave comparable results to that of WL. Comparing the present results with the Provisional Tolerance Weekly Intake of Al approved by the FDA/WHO shows that Al leaching from Al cook wares may add high doses of Al into the diet.
