本文介绍了一种用基函数神经网络实现多阈值图象分割的新方法。它从函数逼近的角度研究基于灰度直方图的多阈值分割问题,提出了一种模糊反向传播学习算法,采用该算法的高斯基函数网络能够准确检测直方图中包含的子区域和它们的分布函数,而且速度很快。实验表明本文的方法在实际图象分割中是有效的。 相似文献

When Jack van Lint was appointed as full professor at the Eindhoven University of Technology at the age of 26 he combined a PhD in number theory with a very open scientific mind. It took a sabbatical visit to Bell Laboratories in 1966 to make him understand that a new and fascinating field of applied mathematics was emerging: discrete mathematics. It fascinated and inspired him for the rest of his life. When he passed away on September 28, 2004, he left behind a legacy of 18 books and 177 articles, covering many aspects of coding theory, combinatorics, and finite geometry.van Lint was also a strong international advocate of the role that discrete mathematics ought to play in modern applied mathematics curricula. Quite a few departments sought his advice. Years later, four different universities showed their appreciation by awarding him an honorary degree.This overview is an homage to van Lint's academic achievements and can serve as an introduction to his work for younger generations. 相似文献

The latest coding standard Versatile Video Coding (VVC) developed by the Joint Video Experts Team (JVET) and Video Coding Experts Group (VCEG) was finalized in 2020. By introducing several new coding techniques, VVC improves the compression efficiency by 50% compared with H.265/HEVC. However, the coding complexity increases dramatically, which obstructs it from real-time application. To tackle this issue, a fast inter coding algorithm utilizing coding information is proposed to speed up the coding process. First, by analyzing the coding areas of the neighboring CUs, we predict the coding area of the current CU to terminate unnecessary splitting modes. Then, the temporally optimal coding mode generated during the prediction process is further utilized to shrink the candidate modes to speed up the coding process. Finally, the distribution of neighboring prediction modes are exploited to measure the motion complexity of the current CU, based on which the unnecessary prediction modes can be skipped earlier. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can reduce the coding complexity by 40.08% on average with 0.07 dB BDPSNR decrease and 1.56% BDBR increase, which outperforms the state-of-the-art approach. 相似文献

The more advanced multi-view extension, MV-HEVC, effectively exploits visual similarities between multi-view videos and enables high compression efficiency. Each view in the multi-view sequence depends on the captured scene, the distance between cameras and recording angles. Increasing the distance between dependent viewpoints generates an inter-view disparity. This impacts the inter-view similarities, affects the disparity estimation and further increases the computational complexity of the MV-HEVC encoder. In this paper, an efficient earlier disparity estimation is proposed for low complexity MV-HEVC. This algorithm is based on reducing the complexity of disparity estimation by eliminating the inter-view offset. Moreover, the inter-view similarities are controlled by considering the reliability of each coding unit size in the search range. This reliability is estimated by reducing the number of searching points within a new limited window. For reliable motion estimation, we further proposed an earlier decision of coding units splitting in the dependent views according to those in the reference views. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can achieve an average encoding time saving of 20.37%–40,61% with marginal performance degradation. 相似文献

In progressive image transmission, there exist some risks which may appear during the processing. A first class of risks is the diminishing coding performance when the occurrence of insignificant coefficients at each transmission time is a small-probability event. It may be a catastrophic transmission risk which can lead to major and irreversible bit losses. In a second class of risks, the performance of the transmission technique diminishes though the occurrence of insignificant sample is still a large-probability event.This paper shows a “Test of Transmission Risks” which can be used to analyze, for a given image, the performance of the state of the art in progressive transmission from the viewpoint of the catastrophic transmission risks. To this aim we make use of a decision making tool based on axioms requiring sensitivity to coding situations where the occurrence of insignificant sample at the transmission time may be either a small-probability or a large-probability event. 相似文献
