Mechanistic aspects of the two step Durham route to polyacetylene are discussed. It is shown that a catalyst based on MoCl5 gives a higher proportion of cis vinylenes in both precursor polymer and nascent polyacetylene than does a WC16 based system.  相似文献

This paper presents a rationale for comparative use of length fraction and number fraction statistics in grain boundary analysis from orientation maps generated by electron back-scatter diffraction (EBSD). The length and number fraction statistics for 3 n coincidence site lattice (CSL) boundaries were measured and compared. The length fraction of 3 boundaries was 0.48 whereas the number fraction was significantly less, 0.36. A simple model was generated to estimate both the length fraction and number fraction of annealing twins (a subset of 3). The model showed that the number fraction of twins is 0.68, 0.75, 0.79 and 0.82 of the length fraction for 1, 2, 3 and 4 twins-per-grain respectively. For the experimental data the number fraction was 0.76 of the length fraction, implying that there were on average two twins-per-grain. In contrast to the 3 case, the length fraction for 9 and 27 boundaries was less than the number fraction. There are more inaccuracies involved in obtaining the number fraction than in obtaining the length fraction from EBSD maps, therefore the length fraction should be recommended as the standard reporting method. However a knowledge of the distribution in the microstructure of 3 n segments is often crucial to the inquiry in addition to the length fraction.  相似文献

The main purpose of this study was to determine the vocal quality characteristics among the 45 monozygotic cotwins (MT). As the performance of the voice is related to several genetically determined anatomical and physiological factors, the authors hypothesized that the vocal characteristics and the overall vocal quality by means of the Dysphonia Severity Index (DSI) will be identical in MT. An additional objective of this study was to determine whether sex and age influence vocal similarities in MT and to compare the voice characteristics of MT with the normative data of unrelated peers. As more environmental factors influence the aging of the voice, age-related differences were expected. No sex-related differences were expected. Subjective and objective assessment techniques determined the vocal quality. No significant differences were obtained, and most comparisons resulted in significant correlation coefficients. For the acoustic parameters jitter and shimmer only, no significant correlation coefficients could be obtained. It is clear that the perceptual voice characteristics, the laryngeal aerodynamic measurements of maximum phonation time (MPT), the vocal performances, and the overall vocal quality by means of the DSI are similar in MT. These vocal characteristics are not influenced either by the subjects' age or sex and are situated within the normative range of unrelated peers. To what extent other aspects (environment, anxiety, tension, etc) might play a role in the acoustical dimensions regarding frequency and amplitude perturbation, which were in the normal range, is a subject of further research.  相似文献

The effect of processing and annealing temperatures on the grain boundary characters in the ultrafine-grained structure of a 304-type austenitic stainless steel was studied. An S304H steel was subjected to multidirectional forging (MDF) at 500–800°C to total strains of ~4, followed by annealing at 800–1,000°C for 30 min. The MDF resulted in the formation of ultrafine-grained microstructures with mean grain sizes of 0.28–0.85 μm depending on the processing temperature. The annealing behaviour of the ultrafine-grained steel was characterized by the development of continuous post-dynamic recrystallization including a rapid recovery followed by a gradual grain growth. The post-dynamically recrystallized grain size depended on both the deformation temperature and the annealing temperature. The recrystallization kinetics was reduced with an increase in the temperature of the preceding deformation. The grain growth during post-dynamic recrystallization was accompanied by an increase in the fraction of Σ3n CSL boundaries, which was defined by a relative change in the grain size, i.e. a ratio of the annealed grain size to that evolved by preceding warm working (D/D0). The fraction of Σ3n CSL boundaries sharply rose to approximately 0.5 in the range of D/D0 from 1 to 5, which can be considered as early stage of continuous post-dynamic recrystallization. Then, the rate of increase in the fraction of Σ3n CSL boundaries slowed down significantly in the range of D/D0 > 5. A fivefold increase in the grain size by annealing is a necessary condition to obtain approximately 50% Σ3n CSL boundaries in the recrystallized microstructure.  相似文献

The effective thickness of ferroelastic twin-walls (W-walls) in Pb3(PO4)2 at room temperature (≈ 0.7 T c ) was determined by X-ray diffraction. The diffraction profiles were analysed using a wall profile e=eotanh x/w where W is the effective wall thickness including the effects of wall bending and surface relaxations. The experimental value W is around 10 unit cells which is larger than expected from standard renormalization arguments. The limitations of such experimental studies are discussed.  相似文献

The X-band EPR studies of Cr3+-doped LCS have been performed. The values of the spin-Hamiltonian parameters for Cr3+ ions have been estimated at room temperature. The effect of crystal twinning on the EPR spectra has also been described. The temperature behaviour of EPR lines originated from two structurally different chromium complexes has been studied close to the ferroelastic phase transition. From the temperature dependence of positions of the split resonance lines a value of the critical exponent β of the order parameter was found to be β = 0.25.  相似文献

Abstract

Composition profiles have been measured in transformation twin walls of the albite type in anorthoclase. Regions close to the walls between two twin domains are enriched in K and Na and depleted in Ca and Al. Microanalysis experiments show high mobility of alkali cations close to twin boundaries. Twin walls are generated via the displacive phase transition C2/m?C[lbar] in Al, Si disordered feldspar, and the chemical heterogeneity is a fingerprint for the subsequent diffusion of alkali and earth alkali ions during the cooling history of the sample.  相似文献
