<Emphasis Type="Italic">J/Ψ</Emphasis>production

For more than 25 yearsJΨ production has helped to sharpen our understanding of QCD. In proton induced reaction some observations are rather well understood while others are still unclear. The current status of the theory ofJΨ production will be sketched, paying special attention to the issues of formation time andJΨ re-interaction in a nuclear medium.     

Predictions of γ(4S)→h_b(1P,2P)π^+π^- transitions

We study the contributions of intermediate bottomonium-like Zb states and the bottom meson loops in the heavy quark spin flip transitionsγ(4 S)→hb(1 P,2 P)π+π-.Depending on the constructive or destructive interferences between the Zb-exchange and the bottom meson loops mechanisms,we predict two possible branching ratios for each process:BRγ(4 S)→hb(1 P)π+π-≈(1.20.40.8×10^-6)or(0.5-0.20.5×10^-6),and BRγ(4 S)→(2 P)π+π-≈(7.1-1.1+1.7×10^-10)or(2.4-0.10.2×10^-10)).The contribution of the bottom meson loops is found to be considerably larger than that of the Zbexchange in the T(4 S)→hb(1 P)ππtransitions,while its decay rates are not comparable to those of heavy quark spin conservedγ(4 S)→γ(1 S,2 S)ππprocesses.We also predict the contribution of the charm meson loops in the branch fractions ofΨ(3 S,4 S)→hc(1 P)ππ.     

Z charmoniumlike mesons

A brief review of the experimental situation concerning the electrically charged charmoniumlike meson candidates, Z^-, is presented.

ATLAS commissioning and early physics of resonance and jet production

As early physics programs with the ATLAS detector,we present J/ψ and Υ production cross section and spin alignment measurements,and the strategy for the jet energy calibration.     

Entropic destruction of heavy quarkonium in a rotating hot and dense medium from holography

Previous studies have indicated that the peak of the quarkonium entropy at the deconfinement transition can be related to the entropic force, which would induce the dissociation of heavy quarkonium. In this study, we investigated the entropic force in a rotating hot and dense medium using AdS/CFT correspondence. It was found that the inclusion of angular velocity increases the entropic force, thus enhancing quarkonium dissociation, while chemical potential has the same effect. The results imply that the quarkonium dissociates easier in rotating medium compared with the static case.     

Gluon-pair-creation production model of strong interaction vertices

By studying the \begin{document}$\eta_c$\end{document} exclusive decay to double glueballs, we introduce a model to phenomenologically mimic the gluon-pair-vacuum interaction vertices, namely the \begin{document}$0^{++}$\end{document} model. Based on this model, we study glueball production in pseudoscalar quarkonium decays, explicitly \begin{document}$\eta_c \to f_0(1500)\eta(1405)$\end{document}, \begin{document}$\eta_b\to f_0(1500)\eta(1405)$\end{document} , and \begin{document}$\eta_b\to f_0(1710)\eta(1405)$\end{document} processes. Among them \begin{document}$f_0(1500)$\end{document} and \begin{document}$f_0(1710)$\end{document} are well-known scalars possessing large glue components, while \begin{document}$\eta(1405)$\end{document} is a potential candidate for a pseudoscalar glueball. The preliminary calculation results indicate that these processes are marginally accessible in the presently running experiments BES III, BELLE II, and LHCb.     

About detecting CP-violating processes in J/ψ→ K0-K0 decay

Questions about detecting the CP-violating decay process of J/ψ→ K0K0→KsKs are discussed. Possible background and material regeneration effects are analyzed. The discussion can be directly extended to other vector quarkoniuln decays, like Υ, ψ (2S) and φ→ KsKs.
