It is believed that there are more fundamental gauge symmetries beyond those described by the Standard Model of particle physics. The scales of these new gauge symmetries are usually too high to be reachable by particle colliders. Considering that the phase transition (PT) relating to the spontaneous breaking of new gauge symmetries to the electroweak symmetry might be strongly first order, we propose considering the stochastic gravitational waves (GW) arising from this phase transition as an indirect way of detecting these new fundamental gauge symmetries. As an illustration, we explore the possibility of detecting the stochastic GW generated from the PT of \begin{document}$ {\bf{B}}-{\bf{L}}$\end{document} ![]()

in the space-based interferometer detectors. Our study demonstrates that the GW energy spectrum is reachable by the LISA, Tianqin, Taiji, BBO, and DECIGO experiments only for the case where the spontaneous breaking of \begin{document}$ {\bf{B}}-{\bf{L}}$\end{document} ![]()

A suitable derivative of Einstein's equations in the framework of the teleparallel equivalent of general relativity (TEGR) yields a continuity equation for the gravitational energy‐momentum. In particular, the time derivative of the total gravitational energy is given by the sum of the total fluxes of gravitational and matter fields energy. We carry out a detailed analysis of the continuity equation in the context of Bondi and Vaidya's metrics. In the former space‐time the flux of gravitational energy is given by the well known expression in terms of the square of the news function. It is known that the energy definition in the realm of the TEGR yields the ADM (Arnowitt‐Deser‐Misner) energy for appropriate boundary conditions. Here we show that the same energy definition also describes the Bondi energy. The analysis of the continuity equation in Vaidya's space‐time shows that the variation of the total gravitational energy is determined by the energy flux of matter only. 相似文献

We report some progress on the quark confinement problem in 2 + 1 dim. pure Yang-Mills theory, using Euclidean instanton methods.
The instantons are regularized Wu-Yang ‘monopoles’, whose long range Coulomb field is screened by collective effects. Such
configurations are stable to small perturbations unlike the case of singular, undressed monopoles. Using exact non-perturbative
results for the 3-dim. Coulomb gas, where Debye screening holds for arbitrarily low temperatures, we show in a self-consistent
way that a mass gap is dynamically generated in the gauge theory. The mass gap also determines the size of the monopoles.
We also identify the disorder operator of the model in terms of the Sine-Gordon field of the Coulomb gas and hence obtain
a dual representation whose symmetry is the centre ofSU(2). 相似文献

We discuss whether an appropriately defined dimensionless scalar function might be an acceptable candidate for the gravitational entropy, by explicitly considering Szekeres and Bianchi type VI

models that admit an isotropic singularity. We also briefly discuss other possible gravitational entropy functions, including an appropriate measure of the velocity dependent Bel-Robinson tensor.

Summary A review of the correlations between gravitational-wave detectors and particle detectors during SN1987A is given. The correlation
between the Maryland and Rome g.w. detectors with the Mont Blanc neutrino detector is illustrated. This correlation extends
during a period of one or two hours centred at 2∶45 UT of 23 February 1987, with the ?neutrino? signals delayed by (1.1±0.5)
s and with a probability of the order of 10−5 to be accidental. Using the data obtained with the Kamiokande and IMB detectors, with the same statistical choices and procedures
for the data analysis used previously, the above result is confirmed with a probability of the order of 10−3 or 10−4 that the additional correlation be accidental.

Summary We report on the development of an adaptive optimum filter for processing the data of a resonant bar gravitational-wave detector.
This filter, based on the matched-filter theory, is adaptive in the sense that the function it realizes is derived from the
actual noise spectrum of the data being analysed (instead from an idealized model of the noise). Its implementation is mostly
