This paper reports the development of a methodology for the determination of arsenic in petroleum refinery aqueous streams containing large amounts of unknown volatile organic compounds, employing electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry with polarized Zeeman-effect background correction. In order to make the procedure applicable, the influence of chemical modification and the drying step was examined. Also, pyrolysis and atomization temperatures and the amount of nitric acid added to the sample were optimized using a multivariate approach based on Doehlert matrix. Obtained results indicate that, in this kind of sample, arsenic must be determined by standard addition procedure with a careful control of the drying step temperature and ramp pattern. In order to evaluate the accuracy of the procedure, a test was performed in six spiked samples of petroleum refinery aqueous streams and the relative errors verified in the analysis of such samples (added As between 12.5 and 190 μg l−1) ranged from −7.2 to +16.7%. The detection limit and the relative standard deviation were also calculated and the values are 68 pg and 7.5% (at 12.5 μg l−1 level), respectively.  相似文献

A new chelating polymeric sorbent has been developed using Merrifield chloromethylated resin anchored with di-bis (2-ethylhexyl) malonamide (DB2EHM). The modified resin was characterized by CPMAS NMR spectroscopy, FT-NIR-FIR spectroscopy, CHN elemental analysis and also by thermo gravimetric analysis. The fabricated sorbent showed superior binding affinity for U(VI) over Th(IV) and other diverse ions, even under high acidities. Various physio-chemical parameters, like solution acidity, phase exchange kinetics, metal sorption capacity, electrolyte tolerance studies, etc., influencing the resin’s metal extractive behavior were studied by both static and dynamic method. Batch extraction studies performed over a wide range of solution acidity (0.01-10 M) revealed that selective extraction of U(VI) could be achieved even up to 4 M acidity with distribution ratios (D) in the order of ∼103. The phase exchange kinetics studies performed for U(VI) and Th(IV) revealed that time duration of <15 min was sufficient for >99.5% extraction. But similar studies when preformed for trivalent lanthanides gave very low D values (<50), with the extraction time extending up to 60 min. The metal sorption studies performed for U(VI) and Th(IV) at 5 M HNO3 was found to be 62.5 and 38.2 mg g−1,respectively. Extraction efficiency in the presence of inferring electrolyte species and inorganic cations were also examined. Metal ion desorption was effective using 10-15 mL of 1 M (NH4)2CO3 or 0.5 M α-hydroxy isobutyric acid (HIBA). Extraction studies performed on a chromatographic column at 5 M acidity were found to give enrichment factor values of 310 and 250 for U(VI) and Th(IV), respectively. The practical utility of the fabricated chelating sorbent and its efficiency to extract actinides from acidic waste streams was tested using a synthetic nuclear spent fuel solution. Fatigue even increases the complexity of the pedestrian dynamics which is regarded as a kind of nonlinear system, and might have a significant negative impact on the crowd evacuation. However, it has never been investigated completely and properly. Thus, the fine discrete floor field cellular automata model is modified by integrating the fatigue function to explore the influence of fatigue on the crowd ascending evacuation. The simulation fits well with the empirical data and the observations quantitatively and qualitatively, indicating the model captures the main features of evacuation considering fatigue impact. As a prediction, without merging streams, compared with the case of walking in constant speed, when fatigue is considered, it takes 71.4% longer for all persons to enter the stairs and 87.2% longer to evacuate. With merging streams, fatigue has little impact on the inflow, while it makes the total evacuation time 84.2% longer.  相似文献

为了降低传感器网络数据流汇聚时的能源消耗,提出了一种基于回归的能源有效数据流汇聚算法。首先,将传感器节点分为活跃节点和能源有效节点。然后,以活跃节点为中心点将所有节点进行聚类,并应用回归方法通过活跃节点的数据流对能源有效节点的数据进行预测。接下来,通过节点预测值的累积误差不断修正活跃节点集。最后,应用活跃节点的数据流信息对能源有效节点的数据进行预测。实验表明,本文提出的算法与其它相关算法相比具有更好的预测准确性。  相似文献

The pace of industrialization and rapid population growth in countries such as India entail an increased input of industrial and sanitary organic micropollutants, the so-called emerging contaminants (EC), into the environment. The emission of EC, such as pharmaceuticals, reaching Indian water bodies causes a detrimental effect on aquatic life and ultimately on human health. However, the financial burden of expanding sophisticated water treatment capacities renders complementary, cost-efficient alternatives, such as adsorption, attractive. Here we show the merits of washed and milled pigeon pea husk (PPH) as low-cost adsorbent for the removal of the EC trimethoprim (TMP) and atenolol (ATN) that are among the most detected pharmaceuticals in Indian waters. We found a linear increase in adsorption capacity of PPH for TMP and ATN at concentrations ranging from 10 to 200 μg/L and from 50 to 400 μg/L, respectively, reflecting the concentrations occurring in Indian water bodies. Investigation of adsorption kinetics using the external mass transfer model (EMTM) revealed that film diffusion resistance governed the adsorption process of TMP or ATN onto PPH. Moreover, analysis of the adsorption performance of PPH across an extensive range of pH and temperature illustrated that the highest adsorption loadings achieved concurred with actual conditions of Indian waters. We anticipate our work as starting point towards the development of a feasible adsorbent system aiming at low-cost water treatment.  相似文献

建立了考虑颗粒接触面导热的颗粒碰撞传热模型,相应完善了气固两相撞击流理论模型,并对不同条件的撞击流干燥过程进行了模拟。计算结果与实验结果非常吻合,从而验证了所建模型的正确性。本文还分析了颗粒碰撞传热、加料方式以及喷嘴间距对撞击流干燥性能的影响规律。结果表明:在本文所涉及的撞击流干燥过程中,颗粒碰撞传热对干燥性能的影响并不明显;单边加料时颗粒物料的降水幅度及撞击流装置的干燥强度都明显大于双边加料的工况;喷嘴间距较大时,物料的降水幅度及装置的干燥强度均较大。  相似文献

Abstract

Polarography with a sodium carbonate-oxalic acid supporting electrolyte was used to determine both Fe(II) and Fe(III) simultaneously in actual coal mine water samples. The average relative percent error was 2.2% for Fe(II) and 2.1% for Fe(III) over a range of 10 to 500 ppm. In actual mine water the Fe(II) content was highest where the mine water emerged. As the water moved down stream from the source of pollution Fe(II) decreased and Fe(III) concentration increased as Fe(II) was oxidized to Fe(III) by oxygen. This was accompanied by a decrease in pH. Further down the stream Fe(III) started to precipitate and then its concentration steadily decreased.  相似文献

Summary An increasing number of parallel architectures is becoming available for numerically intensive applications. Many chemical problems need intensive calculations due to the complexity of the underlying physical models. Very often these applications show an intrinsic parallelism and therefore can be easily adapted to parallel machines. In the future, in addition to the classical numerically intensive applications, the use of these machines will be extended to a more general purpose use (e.g. data base machines, advanced graphics, AI and expert systems applications, etc.). The principal aim of this paper is to show the state of the art of the commercially available parallel architectures and related trends. A comparison of the main features of shared and distributed memory systems will be presented. The characteristics of coarse and fine grained architectures will be discussed. The analysis will include not only the large-scale machines (usually called supercomputers), but also smaller machines (e.g. minisuper and multicomputers) having a very favourable price/performance ratio.  相似文献
