The variational method in a reformulated Hamiltonian formalism of Quantum Field Theory (QFT) is used to derive relativistic n-body wave equations for scalar particles (bosons) interacting via a massive or massless mediating scalar field (the scalar Yukawa model). Simple Fock-space variational trial states are used to derive relativistic n-body wave equations. The equations are shown to have the Schrödinger non-relativistic limits, with Coulombic interparticle potentials in the case of a massless mediating field and Yukawa interparticle potentials in the case of a massive mediating field. Some examples of approximate ground state solutions of the n-body relativistic equations are obtained for various strengths of coupling, for both massive and massless mediating fields.  相似文献

The dimensional analyses of the position and momentum variances‐based quantum mechanical Heisenberg uncertainty measure, as well as the entropic information measures given by the Shannon information entropy sum and the product of Fisher information measures are carried out for two widely used nonrelativistic isotropic exponential‐cosine screened Coulomb potentials generated by multiplying the superpositions of (i) Yukawa‐like, ?Z(er/r), and (ii) Hulthén‐like, ?Zμ(1/(eμr ? 1)), potentials by cos(bμr) followed by addition of the term a/r2, where a and b ≥ 0, μ are the screening parameters and Z, in case of atoms, denotes the nuclear charge. Under the spherical symmetry, all the information measures considered are shown to be independent of the scaling of the set [μ, Z] at a fixed value of μ/Z, a, and b and the other parameters defining the superpositions of the potentials. Numerical results are presented, which support the validity of the scaling properties. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Quantum Chem, 2007  相似文献

We use Monte Carlo simulation to calculate the distributions of particles under adsorption force near planar and cylindrical surfaces, respectively. Both hard sphere interaction and repulsive Yukawa (screened coulomb) interaction are employed in our simulations. We study the influence of the inter-particle potentials. The difference between the MC simulation results and the analytical results of ideal gas model shows that the interaction between particles plays an important role in the density distribution under external fields. Moreover, the 2-dimensional constructions of particles close to the surface are studied and show relations of the interaction between particles. These results may indicate us how to improve the methods of building nanoparticle coatings and nano-scale patterns.  相似文献

Fritzsch type of mass matrices for the 2×2 case and appropriate Lagrangians enable the choice of Yukawa constants of the Lagrangians in terms of the gauge constants. The mass matrices for the four quarks are shown to be proportional to VL. The Cabibbo angle is computed to be 1336′.  相似文献

The energy levels of neutral atoms supported by potential V (r) = -Zexp(-ar)/r (Yukawa potential) are studied, using both dimensional and dimensionless quantities, via a new analytical methodical proposal (devised to solve for nonexactly solvable Schrödinger equation). Using dimensionless quantities, by scaling the radial Hamiltonian through y = Zr and = /Z, we report that the scaled screening parameter is restricted to have values ranging from zero to less than 0.4. On the other hand, working with the scaled Hamiltonian enhances the accuracy and extremely speeds up the convergence of the energy eigenvalues. The energy levels of several new eligible scaled screening parameter values are also reported.  相似文献

Nobel laureate William A. Fowler recalls his early education in physics; his part in the history of nuclear physics at the California Institute of Technology in the 1930s; parallel efforts elsewhere, particularly at Berkeley and the Department of Terrestrial Magnetism in Washington,D.C.; his contacts with J. Robert Oppenheimer; and his work with Charles C. Lauritsen and Tommy Lauritsen before and after World War II.John Greenberg received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Wisconsin and was Caltech research fellow in history from 1980–1984. A density functional theory is applied to calculating the local density profiles of colloids confined in a slit-like pore as well as the radial distribution functions of bulk colloids. The interaction between the colloidal particles is described using a hard-core Yukawa model. The excess Helmholtz energy functional is a combination of the modified fundamental measure theory of Yu and Wu (2002) for the hard-core contribution and a corrected mean-field theory for the attractive contribution. Comparison with the results from the Monte Carlo simulations shows that the corrected theory improves the density profiles of colloids in the vicinity of contact over the original mean-field theory. Both the present corrected theory and simulations suggest that there are depletion and desorption for the colloid with strong attraction between particles at low temperature.  相似文献

Yukawa potentials may be long-ranged when the Debye screening length is large. In computer simulations, such long-ranged potentials have to be taken into account with convenient algorithms to avoid systematic bias in the sampling of the phase space. Recently, we provided Ewald sums for quasi-two-dimensional systems with Yukawa interaction potentials [J. Chem. Phys. 126, 056101 (2007); Molec. Phys. paper I of this series]. Sometimes, Lekner sums are used as an alternative to Ewald sums for Coulomb systems. In the present work, we derive the Lekner sums for quasi-two-dimensional systems with Yukawa interaction potentials and we give numerical tests for practical implementations. The main result of this paper is to emphasize that Lekner sums cannot be considered as an alternative to Ewald sums for Yukawa potentials. As a conclusion to this work: Lekner sums should not be used for quasi-two-dimensional systems with Yukawa interaction potentials.  相似文献

Using the perturbation theory of Weekset al the first order quantum correction to the free energy of a simple fluid characterised by a double Yukawa potential function has been expressed in a simple closed analytical form which allows numerical calculation simply on a desk calculator.  相似文献
