We report the properties of a compact diode-pumped continuous-wave Nd:GdV04 laser with a linear cavity and different Nd-doped laser crystals. In a 0.2at.% Nd-doped Nd:GdVO4 laser, 1.54 W output laser power is achieved at 912nm wavelength with a slope efficiency of 24.8% at an absorbed pump power of 9.4W. With 0.3at.% Nd-doping concentration, we can obtain the either single-wavelength emission at 1064nm or 912nm or the dual-wavelength emission at 1064nm and 912nm by controlling the incident pump power. From an incident pump power of 11.6 W, the 1064nm emission between ^4Fa/2 and ^4I11/2 is suppressed completely by the 912nm emission between ^4Fa/2 and ^4I9/2. We obtain 670 mW output of the 912nm single-wavelength laser emission with a slope efficiency of 5.5% by taking an incident pump power of 18.4 W. Using a Nd:GdV04 laser with 0.4at.% Nd-doping concentration, we obtain either the single-wavelength emission at 1064nm or the dual-wavelength emission at both 1064nm and 912nm by increasing the incident pump power. We observe a strong competition process in the dualavelength laser. 相似文献

A Nd:YVO4 laser, end-pumped by a fiber-coupled diode-laser array, generates 7.3 W of output power at 1342 nm, the highest so far reported
for this host crystal. The slope efficiency is 40% and the output-beam divergence is close to the diffraction limit. An important
point in attaining such results is the choice of crystals with low Nd concentration.

The coherent combining of two Nd:YAG lasers using a Vernier–Michelson-type cavity has been demonstrated. The spectral behaviour
and the energetic performance are reported. We firstly show that the combining efficiency is not strongly spoilt by the gain
imbalance between the two amplifying media, and secondly, that despite the interferometric nature of the cavity, the Vernier–Michelson
laser can withstand environmental perturbations without alteration in output power.

Generation of 2.1 W Continuous Wave Blue Light by Intracavity Doubling of a Diode-End-Pumped Nd:YAG Laser in a 30 mm LBO 总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2 下载免费PDF全文
A folded four-mirror cavity with a composite Nd:YAG rod is optimized to obtain high efficient cw 473nm blue output. The laser could operate stably in the region of the thermal-lens focal length from 20mm to 70mm. LBO is used for intracavity frequency doubling of the 946nm transition of Nd:YAG and the optimum LBO length is investigated. A maximum output power of 2.1 Win the blue spectral range at 473nm is achieved with 30-mm-long LBO, corresponding to an optical conversion efficiency of 9.1%. 相似文献

We report the efficient continuous-wave (CW) and Q-switched laser operation of a diode-pumped Yb:YVO4 laser. A CW output power of 1 W with a slope efficiency of 59% with respect to absorbed pump power was demonstrated. Passively Q-switched with a Cr4+:YAG saturable absorber, a Yb:YVO4 laser with Raman conversion was demonstrated. Q-switched 18.7- J pulses with a pulse duration of 17 ns and a peak power up to 1 kW were obtained at 1018-nm fundamental wavelength and 3.6- J pulses with a pulse duration of 6 ns and a peak power of about 0.6 kW were obtained at 1119.5-nm first-Stokes wavelength. This revised version was published online in March 2005. In the previous version, the published online date was missing 相似文献

We report on a passively Q-switched diode-pumped Nd:YVO4 laser polarized along the a axis (corresponding to the smallest value of emission cross section at 1064 nm), generating 157-μJ
pulses with 6.0-ns time duration (>20 kW peak power) and 3.6 W of average power at 1064 nm with good beam quality (M2<1.4). The selection of the polarization was performed by a novel technique relying on the birefringence of the laser crystal
and on the misalignment sensitivity of the resonator.

An active Q-switched diode-end-pumped Nd:YAG laser is reported with 2.9 W output power on the 4F3/2 → 4I9/2 transitions at a pump power of 24 W. With intracavity frequency doubling using a 20-mm-long LBO, a maximum blue output power of 2.25 W is achieved at a repetition rate of 23 kHz. The conversion efficiency from the corresponding Q-switched fundamental output to blue output is 96%. The peak power of the Q-switched blue pulse is up to 610 W with 160 ns pulse width. The fluctuation of the blue output power is less than 4.0% at the maximum output power. 相似文献

A Bidirectional, Diode-Pumped, Passively Mode-Locked Nd:YVO4 Ring Laser with a Low-Temperature-Grown Semiconductor Saturable Absorber Mirror 下载免费PDF全文
We report the operation of a bidirectional picosecond pulsed ring Nd:YVO4 laser based on a low-temperaturegrown semiconductor saturable absorber mirror. Except for the laser crystal, the six-mirror ring laser cavity has no intra-cavity elements such as focusing lens or mirror. The bidirectional mode locked pluses are obtained at the repetition rate of 117.5 MHz, pulse duration of 81 ps, power of 2 × 200 mW. 相似文献

Dynamics of Efficiency Change by Temperature in Diode Pumped Nd:YAG Heat Capacity Laser 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1 下载免费PDF全文
We investigate the influence of temperature on the efficiency of diode pumped Nd:YAG heat capacity laser is studied. It is shown that the efficiency of such a laser system is greatly reduced at higher temperature. This bad behaviour is mainly caused by the doped-ion redistribution among various Stark levels of the ground state, and by a thermal equilibrium between the upper laser level and the pump level. Meanwhile, the thermal excitations from the ground state to the lower laser level also play a role. We derive a model to describe those effects, with the considerations of emission spectrum of laser diodes, the subtle Stark structures and the linewidth of absorption and of simulated-emission. 相似文献

Orthogonally Linearly Polarized Dual Frequency Nd:YAG Lasers with Tunable Frequency Difference and Its Application in Precision Angle Measurement 总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2 下载免费PDF全文
The orthogonally linearly polarized dual frequency Nd: YA G lasers with two quarter wave plates in laser resonator are proposed. The intra-cavity variable birefringence, which is caused by relative rotation of these two wave plates in laser inner cavity, results in the frequency difference of the dual frequency laser also changeable. The theory model based on the Jones matrix is presented, as well as experimental results. The potential application of this phenomenon in precision roll-angle measurement is also discussed. 相似文献
