The Action Functional for Moyal Planes

Modulo some natural generalizations to noncompact spaces, we show in this Letter that Moyal planes are nonunital spectral triples in the sense of Connes. The action functional of these triples is computed, and we obtain the expected result, i.e. the noncommutative Yang–Mills action associated with the Moyal product. In particular, we show that Moyal gauge theory naturally fits into the rigorous framework of noncommutative geometry.     

Chern and Pontryagin Numbers in Perfect Symmetries of Spheres

The paper presents a procedure for constructing smooth actions of finite perfect groups on spheres with fixed point sets having certain prescribed properties (Theorem A); in particular, having any prescribed configuration of Chern and Pontryagin numbers (Corollary C). The main ingredients used are equivariant thickening and equivariant surgery.     

The Geometric Construction of WZW Effective Action in Noncommutative Manifold

By constructing close-one-cochain density Ω^12n in the gauge group space we get the Wess-Zumino-Witten (WZW) effective Lagrangian on high-dimensional noncommutative space.Especially consistent anomalies derived from this WZW effective action in noncommutative four-dimensional space coincide with those obtained by L.Bonora etc.(het-th/0002210).     

Shell model interaction between proton holes and between proton holes and neutron particles around 208Pb

An effective residual interaction between particles and holes for shell model calculations around ²⁰⁸Pb, derived from the interaction between free nucleons, is compared with the measured properties of proton-hole neutron states in ²⁰⁸Tl and the interaction between proton holes is adjusted to newly measured level energies in ²⁰⁶Hg. These interaction elements are particularly relevant for neutron-rich nuclei. The adjustment of two mixing elements reproduces the known γ-decay data in ²⁰⁸Tl. Propagation of mesons in asymmetric nuclear matter in a density-dependent coupling model

We study the propagation of the light mesons σ,ω,ρ, and a₀(980) in dense hadronic matter in an extended derivative scalar coupling model. Within the scheme proposed it is possible to unambiguously define effective density-dependent couplings at the Lagrangian level. We first apply the model to study asymmetric nuclear matter with fixed isospin asymmetry, and then we pay particular attention to hypermatter in β-equilibrium. The equation of state and the potential contribution to the symmetry coefficient arising from the mean-field approximation are investigated. Review of chiral perturbation theory

A review of chiral perturbation theory and recent developments on the comparison of its predictions with experiment is presented. Some interesting topics with scope for further elaboration are touched upon.     

Homogenization of two-phase flow: high contrast of phase permeabilityHomogénéisation d'écoulement diphasique : grand contraste de perméabilité d'une phase

The steady-state two-phase flow non-linear equation is considered in the case when one of phases has low effective permeability in some periodic set, while on the complementary set it is high; the second phase has no contrast of permeabilities in different zones. A homogenization procedure gives the homogenized model with macroscopic effective permeability of the second phase depending on the gradient and on the second order derivatives of the macroscopic pressure of the first phase. 核内核子－核子非弹散射截面（Ⅰ）

在与平均场、核内核子－核子弹性散射截面以及输运方程相统一的理论框架内推导了核内核子－核子非弹散射截面的解析表达式．其数值结果能很好地重现自由非弹截面的实验值，所计算的有效非弹截面与Ｄｉｒａｃ－Ｂｒｕｅｃｋｎｅｒ的计算结果相一致．     

The Investigation of Bulk and Surface Polariton Modes in Ga1?xNxAs by Using Infrared Magneto Spectroscopy

We present and discuss infrared magnetoplasma reflectivity and surface polariton modes in Ga_1–xN_xAs. It assumed that the sample is characterized by a magnetoplasma dielectric tensor. Surface polariton dispersion for two component magnetoplasma was calculated from reflectivity spectra data. We detect transverse optic phonon of GaN sublattice in 470 cm^-1. The origin of sharp feature in p-polarization reflectivity about 300 cm^–1 as well as LO phonon frequency of GaAs sublattice is due to Brewster mode. An interesting feature of surface modes in Voigt geometry is nonreciprocalicity, which means that the frequency changes when the direction of propagation is reversed. Also, the infrared magnetoplasma reflectivity of GaNAs should be providing determination of the electrons and heavy holes effective mass and carrier's concentration.
