Large cable net structures have been widely applied in aerospace engineering due to the feature of light-weight, high packaging efficiency, and high thermal stability. Structural vibrations induced by a variety of disturbances are inevitable in the space environment, resulting in the requirement of effective vibration control strategies for large cable net structures. Since the large cable net structures have many closely spaced vibrational modes in the range of low frequencies, traditional modal based control may cause modal truncation and spillover problems. In this paper, a wave-based boundary control strategy is adopted and its effectiveness to control the vibration of cable net structures is investigated, by transfer function analysis and numerical methods. It is found that the structural vibration can be absolutely resisted by applying the wave-based boundary controllers onto all the exterior nodes, when disturbances come from the external boundaries of the cable net. Our results in this paper can provide a theoretical basis for the vibration control of large cable net structures. 相似文献

The relationship between the dominant mode of the submerged thin cylindrical shell and the flexural wave velocity is investigated. The natural frequency corresponding to the vibration mode is obtained as the solution of characteristic equation of thin cylindrical shell. However, it is difficult to estimate the dominant mode, especially if two or more vibration modes are involved. To estimate the dominant mode of a thin shell in vacuo, the concept of “modified bending stiffness” has been introduced. In this paper, the concept of modified bending stiffness is extended to estimate the dominant mode of a submerged thin cylindrical shell. The dominant mode of a submerged thin cylindrical shell is theoretically discriminated from the other mode based on the smallness of the modified bending stiffness of the submerged shell. The validity of our theory is confirmed by a good agreement between theoretical and experimental results on flexural wave velocity. 相似文献

The large deviation principle (LDP) which has been effectively used in queueing analysis is the sample path LDP, the LDP in a function space endowed with the uniform topology. Chang [5] has shown that in the discrete-time G/D/1 queueing system under the FIFO discipline, the departure process satisfies the sample path LDP if so does the arrival process. In this paper, we consider arrival processes satisfying the LDP in a space of measures endowed with the weak* topology (Lynch and Sethuraman [12]) which holds under a weaker condition. It is shown that in the queueing system mentioned above, the departure processes still satisfies the sample path LDP. Our result thus covers arrival processes which can be ruled out in the work of Chang [5]. The result is then applied to obtain the exponential decay rate of the queue length probability in an intree network as was obtained by Chang [5], who considered the arrival process satisfying the sample path LDP. 相似文献

Settling of a large solid particle in bioconvection flow caused by gyrotactic microorganisms is investigated. The particle is released from the top of the bioconvection chamber; its settling pattern depends on whether it is released in the centre of the bioconvection plume or at its periphery. The Chimera method is utilized; a subgrid is generated around a moving particle. The method suggested by Liu and Wang (Comput. Fluid 2004; 33 :223–255) is further developed to account for the presence of a moving boundary in the streamfunction‐vorticity formulation using the finite‐difference method. A number of cases for different release positions of the particle are computed. It is demonstrated that bioconvection can either accelerate or decelerate settling of the particle depending on the initial position of the particle relative to the plume centre. It is also shown that the particle impacts bioconvection plume by changing its shape and location in the chamber. Copyright © 2005 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献

Large eddy simulations of two basic configurations (decay of isotropic turbulence, and the academic plane channel flow) with heat transfer have been performed comparing several convection numerical schemes, in order to discuss their ability to evaluate temperature fluctuations properly. Results are compared with the available incompressible heat transfer direct numerical simulation data. It is shown that the use of regularizing schemes (such as high order upwind type schemes) for the temperature transport equation in combination with centered schemes for momentum transport equation gives better results than the use of centred schemes for both equations. In this work, the effect of flexibility on the trajectory of a planar two-link manipulator is studied using integrated computer-aided design/analysis (CAD/CAE) procedures. The solid models and finite element models of the parts of the manipulator are created by using the CAD/CAE software I-DEAS. The assembly is defined, and knowing the payload and the end point trajectory, the velocities and accelerations of the parts, joint forces and driving torques are calculated using the rigid body dynamics. All the time dependent nodal forces acting on the parts including distributed gravity and inertia forces are created in files with the I-DEAS program file format. The finite element vibration analysis of the parts is performed by I-DEAS. The end point vibrations and the deviations from the rigid-body trajectory are analyzed for different types of end point acceleration curves. A circular trajectory is considered as an example. It is observed that the precision of the manipulator can be increased by testing different end point acceleration curves without changing the trajectory and the duration of the end point work. We establish the optimal asymptotic decay rate of per-session queue length tail distributions for a two-queue system where
a single constant rate server serves the two queues using the Generalized Processor Sharing (GPS) scheduling discipline. The
result is obtained using the sample-path large deviation principle and has implications in call admission control for high-speed
communication networks.
