Pure and Sm-doped ZnO nanoparticles were synthesized applying a simple sonochemical method. The nanocatalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) techniques which confirmed the successful synthesis of the doped sonocatalyst. The sonocatalytic degradation of Acid Blue 92 (AB92), a model azo dye, was more than that with sonolysis alone. The 6% Sm-doped ZnO nanoparticles had a band gap of 2.8 eV and demonstrated the highest activity. The degradation efficiency (DE%) of sonolysis and sonocatalysis with undoped ZnO and 6% Sm-doped ZnO was 45.73%, 63.9%, and 90.10%, after 150 min of treatment, respectively. Sonocatalytic degradation of AB92 is enhanced with increasing the dopant amount and catalyst dosage and with decreasing the initial AB29 concentration. DE% declines with the addition of radical scavengers such as chloride, carbonate, sulfate, and tert-butanol. However, the addition of enhancers including potassium periodates, peroxydisulfate, and hydrogen peroxide improves DE% by producing more free radicals. The results show adequate reusability of the doped sonocatalyst. Degradation intermediates were recognized by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS). Using nonlinear regression analysis, an empirical kinetic model was developed to estimate the pseudo-first-order constants (kapp) as a function of the main operational parameters, including the initial dye concentration, sonocatalyst dosage, and ultrasonic power.  相似文献

In the present study, a porous clay-like support with unique characteristics was used for the synthesis and immobilization of ZnO nanostructures to be used as sonocatalyst for the sonocatalytic decolorization of methylene blue (MB) dye in the aqueous phase. As a result, the sonocatalytic activity of ZnO–biosilica nanocomposite (77.8%) was higher than that of pure ZnO nanostructures (53.6%). Increasing the initial pH from 3 to 10 led to increasing the color removal from 41.8% to 88.2%, respectively. Increasing the sonocatalyst dosage from 0.5 to 2.5 g/L resulted in increasing the color removal, while further increase up to 3 g/L caused an obvious drop in the color removal. The sonocatalysis of MB dye over ZnO–biosilica nanocomposite was temperature-dependent. The presence of methanol produced the most adverse effect on the sonocatalysis of MB dye. The addition of chloride and carbonate ions had a negligible effect on the sonocatalysis, while the addition of persulfate ion led to increasing the color removal from 77.8% to 99.4% during 90 min. The reusability test exhibited a 15% drop in the color removal (%) within three consecutive experimental runs. A mineralization efficiency of 63.2% was obtained within 4 h.  相似文献

Nanostructured ZnSe-graphene/TiO2 was synthesized by a hydrothermal-assisted approach. ZnSe-graphene/TiO2 exhibited favorable adsorption of rhodamine B, a wide wavelength absorption range, and efficient charge separation. Reactive oxygen species were generated by the oxidation of 1,5-diphenyl carbazide to 1,5-diphenyl carbazone. The sonocatalytic reaction mechanism was pro-posed. These findings potentially broaden the applications of sonocatalytic technologies.  相似文献

In this work, different mass percent ratios of CoFe2O4 coupled g-C3N4 (w%-CoFe2O4/g-C3N4, CFO/CN) nanocomposites were integrated through a hydrothermal process for the sonocatalytic eradication of tetracycline hydrochloride (TCH) from aqueous media. The prepared sonocatalysts were subjected to various techniques to investigate their morphology, crystallinity, ultrasound wave capturing activity and charge conductivity. From the investigated activity of the composite materials, it has been registered that the best sonocatalytic degradation efficiency of 26.71 % in 10 min was delivered when the amount of CoFe2O4 was 25% in the nanocomposite. The delivered efficiency was higher than that of bare CoFe2O4 and g-C3N4. This enriched sonocatalytic efficiency was credited to the accelerated charge transfer and separation of e-h+ pair through the S-scheme heterojunctional interface. The trapping experiments confirmed that all the three species i.e. OH, h+ and O2 were involved in the eradication of antibiotics. A strong interaction was shown up between CoFe2O4 and g-C3N4 in the FTIR study to support charge transfer as confirmed from the photoluminescence and photocurrent analysis of the samples. This work will provide an easy approach for fabricating highly efficient low-cost magnetic sonocatalysts for the eradication of hazardous materials present in our environment.  相似文献

The sonocatalytic degradation of EDTA (C0 = 5 10−3 M) in aqueous solutions was studied under 345 kHz (Pac = 0.25 W mL−1) ultrasound at 22–51 °C, Ar/20%O2, Ar or air, and in the presence of metallic titanium (Ti0) or core-shell Ti@TiO2 nanoparticles (NPs). Ti@TiO2 NPs have been obtained using simultaneous action of hydrothermal conditions (100–214 °C, autogenic pressure P = 1.0–19.0 bar) and 20 kHz ultrasound, called sonohydrothermal (SHT) treatment, on Ti0 NPs in pure water. Ti0 is composed of quasi-spherical particles (30–150 nm) of metallic titanium coated with a metastable titanium suboxide Ti3O. SHT treatment at 150–214 °C leads to the oxidation of Ti3O and partial oxidation of Ti0 and formation of nanocrystalline shell (10–20 nm) composed of TiO2 anatase. It was found that Ti0 NPs do not exhibit catalytic activity in the absence of ultrasound. Moreover, Ti0 NPs remain inactive under ultrasound in the absence of oxygen. However, significant acceleration of EDTA degradation was achieved during sonication in the presence of Ti0 NPs and Ar/20%O2 gas mixture. Coating of Ti0 with TiO2 nanocrystalline shell reduces sonocatalytic activity. Pristine TiO2 anatase nanoparticles do not show a sonocatalytic activity in studied system. Suggested mechanism of EDTA sonocatalytic degradation involves two reaction pathways: (i) sonochemical oxidation of EDTA by OH/HO2 radicals in solution and (ii) EDTA oxidation at the surface of Ti0 NPs in the presence of oxygen activated by cavitation event. Ultrasonic activation most probably occurs due to the local heating of Ti0/O2 species at cavitation bubble/solution interface.  相似文献

In this study, 0.6Ag3PO4/CoWO4 composites were synthesized by hydrothermal method. The prepared materials were systematically characterized by techniques of scanning electron microscope (SEM), transmission electron microscope (TEM), X-ray diffractometer (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), N2 adsorption/desorption, and UV–vis diffuse reflectance spectrum (DRS). Furthermore, the sonocatalytic degradation performance of 0.6Ag3PO4/CoWO4 composites towards tetracycline (TC) was investigated under ultrasonic radiation. The results showed that, combined with potassium persulfate (K2S2O8), the 0.6Ag3PO4/CoWO4 composites achieved a high sonocatalytic degradation efficiency of 97.89 % within 10 min, which was much better than bare Ag3PO4 or CoWO4. By measuring the electrochemical properties, it was proposed that the degradation mechanism of 0.6Ag3PO4/CoWO4 is the formation of S-scheme heterojunction, which increases the separation efficiency of electron-hole pairs (e--h+) and generates more electrons and holes, thereby enhancing the degradation activity. The scavenger experiments confirmed that hole (h+) was the primary active substance in degrading TC, and free radicals (OH) and superoxide anion radical (O2) were auxiliary active substances. The results indicated that 0.6Ag3PO4/CoWO4 nanocomposites could be used as an efficient and reliable sonocatalyst for wastewater treatment.  相似文献

ZnO/MMT nanocomposite as sonocatalyst was prepared by immobilizing synthesized ZnO on the montmorillonite surface. The characteristics of as-prepared nanocomposite were studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) techniques. The synthesized samples were used as a catalyst for sonocatalytic degradation of naproxen. ZnO/MMT catalyst in the presence of ultrasound irradiation was more effective compared to pure ZnO nanoparticles and MMT particles in the sonocatalysis of naproxen. The effect of different operational parameters on the sonocatalytic degradation of naproxen including initial drug concentration, sonocatalyst dosage, solution pH, ultrasonic power and the presence of organic and inorganic scavengers were evaluated. It was found that the presence of the scavengers suppressed the sonocatalytic degradation efficiency. The reusability of the nanocomposite was examined in several consecutive runs, and the degradation efficiency decreased only 2% after 5 repeated runs. The main intermediates of naproxen degradation were determined by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–Mass).  相似文献

The present study focused on the synthesis of nanostructured MgO via sonochemical method and its application as sonocatalyst for the decolorization of Basic Red 46 (BR46) dye under ultrasonic irradiation. The sonocatalyst was characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) equipped with energy dispersive X-ray microanalysis (EDX). In the following, the sonocatalytic removal of the dye under different operational conditions was evaluated kinetically on the basis of pseudo first-order kinetic model. The reaction rate of sonocatalyzed decolorization using MgO nanostructures (12.7 × 10−3 min−1) was more efficient than that of ultrasound alone (2.0 × 10−3 min−1). The increased sonocatalyst dosage showed better sonocatalytic activity but the application of excessive dosage should be avoided. The presence of periodate ions substantially increased the decolorization rate from 14.76 × 10−3 to 33.4 × 10−3 min−1. Although the application of aeration favored the decolorization rate (17.8 × 10−3 min−1), the addition of hydrogen peroxide resulted in a considerable decrease in the decolorization rate (9.5 × 10−3 min−1) due to its scavenging effects at specific concentrations. Unlike alcoholic compounds, the addition of phenol had an insignificant scavenging effect on the sonocatalysis. A mineralization rate of 7.4 × 10−3 min−1 was obtained within 120 min. The intermediate byproducts were also detected using GC–MS analysis.  相似文献

In the present study, kinetics of synthesis of 2,2-di(prop-2-ynyl)-1H-indene-1,3(2H)-dione was successfully carried out by propargylation of indene-1,3-dione with propargyl bromide using aqueous potassium hydroxide and catalyzed by a newly synthesized phase-transfer catalyst viz., N-benzyl-N-ethyl-N-isopropylpropan-2-ammonium bromide, PTC under ultrasonic (40 kHz, 300 W) assisted organic solvent condition. The pseudo first-order kinetic equation was applied to describe the overall reaction. Under ultrasound irradiation (40 kHz, 300 W) in a batch reactor, it shows that the overall reaction rate can be greatly enhanced with ultrasound irradiation than without ultrasound.  相似文献
