The Fourier transform method, widely applied in photomechanics for the automated analysis of interferometric fringe patterns, has been recently extended to the photoelastic isochromatic fringe patterns analysis. Unfortunately, its use in photoelasticity involves some limitations that have not been completely highlighted in literature. This work deals with the influence of the quarter-wave plate tolerance on the evaluation of the retardation. Both theoretical and experimental analyses have shown that the quarter-wave plate error does not affect the retardation only if the principal stress directions in the model and in the carrier are aligned. In general, instead, the tolerance of the quarter-wave plates leads to an amplification of the retardation error due to the influence of the isoclinics with a subsequent restriction of the field in which the method can be applied. For instance, using common quarter-wave plates and tolerating a maximum retardation error of about 0.03 fringe order, than the Fourier transform method cannot be applied as a full-field technique but only in the model zones in which the misalignment between the principal stresses in the model and in the carrier is less than 15°. 相似文献

以单束正交线偏振光为光源,利用角向偏振显示器,采用CCD摄像机进行图像采集,利用Matlab软件进行图像处理,设计了一种由He-Ne激光器、角向偏振显示器组成的偏振光偏振方向显示系统,并研究了其角度特性.实验结果表明:系统在起偏器的起偏角分别为0°、90°、180°、270°、360°时,角向偏振显示器偏振显示角度的测量准确度分别为0.480°、0.168°、0.528°、0.421°、0.340°,测量精确度分别为0.208°、0.576°、0.660°、0.603°、0.466°,测量数据拟合曲线的线性相关系数为0.999.结合1/4波片,检偏器和分光比为50:50的分束器,构建了椭圆偏振光测量系统,完成了椭圆偏振光测量实验,椭圆率为0.198. 相似文献

发展了声腔的分析和数值模型,对液体火箭发动机不稳定燃烧的抑制作用进行了评定,通过迭代计算研究了二维流动和温度分布变化对声腔调 谐和稳定性能的影响,对不同的声腔几何尺寸和温度梯度的稳定性计算结果表明,燃烧带有较大开口面积的声腔会更大程度地改变振荡的空间分布,这种改变而且影响了驱动和抑制燃烧的机理,讨论了在声腔设计安排中正确选择声腔的几何尺寸,且比较了不同长度和不同直径声腔的阻尼特性,通过考察声吸收系统的方法来最优化系统的阻尼,得到了可供设计参考的结论。 相似文献

A method for measuring retardation of a quarter-wave plate based on normalized secondary harmonic component is proposed, and the measuring principle is analyzed. The optical measuring system is composed of a laser, a polarizer, a phase modulator, the quarter-wave plate to be measured, an analyzer and a detector. The azimuths of the transmission axes of the polarizer and the analyzer with respect to the modulating axis of the phase modulator are +45°, 0°, respectively. The retardation of the quarter-wave plate is calculated precisely using the normalized secondary harmonic components prior to and after 22.5° rotation of the quarter-wave plate. In this method, the major axis position of the quarter-wave plate is not required to be known in advance, and the measured retardation is independent of the intensity fluctuation of the light source. Noise and air pollution problems become significantly in a busy city such as Hong Kong since buildings usually located close to the heavy traffic lines. Traditional openable window cannot fulfill all the functions of noise reduction, lighting and natural ventilation. A new ventilated window combines the multiple quarter-wave resonators (silencer) and the new wing wall designs aim to make a balance between acoustic and ventilation performances at the same time. Furthermore, the use of multiple-wave resonators and membrane absorber which made plexi-glass plastic sheet replace absorption material can improve the durability; avoid small particle emission and light transparency.The acoustic and ventilation performance of new ventilated window were examined in this study. Noise attenuation of the new ventilated window design has improved significantly by combine flexible absorber and quarter-wave resonator effects. Transmission loss of 10–22 dB can be achieved in the frequency range of 500 Hz–4 kHz band. Outlet air flow velocity of ventilated window design is higher than that of “an open window”. Thus, both the acoustics and ventilation performance of the new ventilated window is essential. Wind-driven natural ventilation is an effective strategy in maintaining the comfort and health of the indoor environment. 相似文献

A novel method used for the enhancement of the accuracy of the retardance measurement of a quarter-wave plate employing two polaroids and a prism is reported under the condition of knowing the direction of the fast-axis of the plate. The theoretical analysis of the principle and the uncertainty formula are given. An application example is also demonstrated. The measured result of the example is verified with an experiment. First-order approximations have been used to study the recursion expressions of the reflection and transmission coefficients of a weakly absorptive multilayer mirror. It has been proved that in the proximity of the central frequency ω0 of a quarter-wave mirror, contributions of an individual layer to the reflection delay time and absorption-induced reflectivity reduction can be quantitatively specified with a single weighting factor pertinent to that layer. Derivations have indicated that the absorption-induced reductions of mirror reflectivity and reflection delay can be reduced by selecting an odd layer number and a large index ratio between alternating high and low refractive index coating materials. Calculations have also suggested that the absorbed incident light is not distributed, among the reflected and transmitting parts, according to the ratio between the reflectivity and potential transmission. 相似文献
