There exist a number of typical and interesting systems and/or models, which possess three-generator Lie-algebraic structure,
in atomic physics, quantum optics, nuclear physics and laser physics. The well-known fact that all simple 3-generator algebras
are either isomorphic to the algebra sl (2, C) or to one of its real forms enables us to treat these time-dependent quantum systems in a unified way. By making use of
both the Lewis-Riesenfeld invariant theory and the invariant-related unitary transformation formulation, the present paper
obtains exact solutions of the time-dependent Schr?dinger equations governing various three-generator Lie-algebraic quantum
systems. For some quantum systems whose time-dependent Hamiltonians have no quasialgebraic structures, it is shown that the exact solutions can also be obtained by working in a
sub-Hilbert-space corresponding to a particular eigenvalue of the conserved generator (i.e., the time-independent invariant that commutes with the time-dependent Hamiltonian). The topological property of geometric phase factors and its adiabatic limit in time-dependent systems is briefly
discussed.

In atomic and many-particle physics, Green functions often occur as propagators to formally represent the (integration over the) complete spectrum of the underlying Hamiltonian. However, while these functions are very crucial to describing many second- and higher-order perturbation processes, they have hardly been considered and classified for complex atoms. Here, we show how relativistic (many-electron) Green functions can be approximated and systematically improved for few- and many-electron atoms and ions. The representation of these functions is based on classes of virtual excitations, or so-called excitation schemes, with regard to given bound-state reference configurations, and by applying a multi-configuration Dirac-Hartree-Fock expansion of all atomic states involved. A first implementation of these approximate Green functions has been realized in the framework of Jac, the Jena Atomic Calculator, and will facilitate the study of various multi-photon and/or multiple electron (emission) processes. 相似文献

In traditional schemes of multilevel multilaser excitation, each laser pulse interacts with only one pair of states, and the
rotating wave approximation (RWA) is applicable. Here we study the population transfer process in a three-state system when
each of the two lasers interacts with each of the pair of states and when the Rabi frequencies characterizing the interaction
strengths of the system are comparable to or larger than the difference of the transition frequencies. We show that complete
and robust population transfer is possible under conditions more general than those hitherto considered necessary for stimulated
Raman adiabatic passage (STIRAP) or for successive π pulses. Using adiabatic Floquet theory we show that successful population transfer can be interpreted as adiabatic passage
by means of a transfer state which connects the initial and final states. The Floquet picture offers a convenient interpretation
of the population transfer as accompanied by multiple absorption of photons from or emission into the laser fields. 相似文献

In recent years, increasing attention has been paid to “soft” photoionization (PI), which will potentially become a standard, universal ionization method. Tunable synchrotron vacuum ultraviolet (SVUV) light, a quasi-continuous light with good energy resolution and high photon flux, has proved an ideal source for “soft” PI in various research fields (e.g., combustion chemistry and molecular imaging).This review focuses on combinations of SVUV light with commonly used techniques (e.g., molecular-beam sampling, laser desorption, ion desorption, and thermal vaporization). Molecular excitation by the simultaneous absorption of two photons provides intrinsic three-dimensional resolution in laser scanning fluorescence microscopy. Thus induced two-photon absorption and the accompanied multi-photon absorption/ionization not only cause photo-bleaching but also cell damage in the vicinity of the focal point. In this paper, we study the wavelength dependent cell damage induced by high intensity femtosecond near infrared lasers. The study was performed with a Ti:sapphire laser and a Cr:forsterite laser. With a longer output wavelength from a Cr:forsterite laser, multi-photon absorption and auto-fluorescence were found to be significantly suppressed and the destructive plasma formation was found to be greatly reduced. Sustained multi-photon spectra can be observed in most plant specimens with a tightly focused Cr:forsterite laser beam under long term irradiation with more than 100 mW laser average power. In contrast, multi-photon absorption induced destructive plasma formation were frequently observed with a tightly focused Ti:sapphire laser beam within seconds with more than 10 mW laser average power. 相似文献

We investigate the adiabatic and dynamical natures of the lattice relaxation of excitons in strongly coupled electron-phonon (e-ph) systems using the extended Peierls-Hubbard model, so as to clarify the possible mechanisms of the photoinduced structural phase transition (PISPT) via multi-photon. Focusing on the growth process of relaxed domains that is induced by multi-photoexcitation, we calculate the adiabatic potential energy surfaces relevant to the nonlinear lattice relaxations of excitons in this process. Calculated potentials lead to an essential model of a multi-stepwise potential-crossing (MSPC) system that is composed of many displaced harmonic oscillators as an elementary process of the domain growth in the strongly coupled e-ph systems. We also investigate the dynamical natures in such MSPC systems calculating the time-developments the excited wave packet in this system using the density operator. It is concluded from calculated results that the system possibly develops from the lowest-energy potential state to the higher ones by the effect of the photoexcitations followed by the lattice relaxations. 相似文献
