液晶显示器用衬垫料的扫描电镜图像

论述了液晶显示器 (LCD)用衬垫料的作用和性能要求。给出了液晶显示器用衬垫料的扫描电镜图像。该图像对观测衬垫料的粒径分布和控制液晶显示器的盒厚均匀程度 ,消除液晶显示器的底色差异具有一定的意义。实验所得图像为从事液晶显示器的工程技术人员提供了清晰的衬垫料图像 ,为排除衬垫料的不均匀因素所造成的液晶屏的质量问题提供了依据。     

三片式液晶投影仪的立体视觉研究

基于对三原色信号进行偏振特性的分析,提出了一种在三片式液晶投影显示设备上实现立体显示的新方法。该方法利用红色和蓝色信号光与绿色信号光在偏振方向上正交的特性,在信号通道之间引入视差,实现了三维立体显示。因此这种方法被称为补色偏振体视。介绍了该方法的基本原理,并详细叙述了用PHOTOSHOP软件制作补色偏振立体图对的方法。     

Organosoluble and transparent polyimides derived from alicyclic dianhydride and aromatic diamines

Organosoluble polyimides were synthesized with the alicyclic dianhydride 1,8‐dimethylbicyclo[2,2,2]oct‐7‐ene‐2,3,5,6‐tetracarboxylic dianhydride and aromatic diamines. The polyimides possessed good solubility both in strong dipolar solvents and in common solvents; the thermal decomposition temperature of the polyimides exceeded 420 °C. Strong and flexible films of the polyimides, with the cutoff of ultraviolet–visible absorption lower than 310–320 nm, exhibited good features as the alignment layers for nematic liquid crystals with pretilt angles of 1.5–2.9°. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Synthesis of monodispersed organic-inorganic hybrid spheres

This paper describes the attempt to prepare a new group of monodispersed silica-polymer hybrid particles, which consists of silica and amide polymer: poly(vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP) and poly(2-ethyloxazoline) (POXZ). Preparation method is based on the growth of hybrid seeds by the addition of TEOS-polymer solution.Monodispersed PVP-silica hybrid particles of 1.24 µm in diameter were prepared by growing the hybrid seeds of 0.54 µm by the addition of TEOS-PVP solution with ammonia catalyst. In the case of POXZ-silica particles, addition of TEOS-POXZ solution to the solution containing 0.54 µm seeds resulted in monodispersed POXZ-silica hybrid particles and four times repetition of the addition for particle growth gave the hybrid particles of the diameter of 1.6 µm.Improvement of mechanical properties of hybrid particles was observed when the particles were heated at 100 200°C.     

New liquid‐crystal alignment agents based on fluorinated polyimides with trifluoromethyl‐substituted benzene or diphenylether in the side chain

Fluorinated copolyimides derived from 4,4′‐oxydiphthalic anhydride (ODPA) with 4,4′‐oxydianline (ODA) and trifluoromethyl‐containing aromatic diamines have been synthesized and characterized. The trifluoromethyl‐containing diamines include 2,4‐diamino‐3′‐trifluoromethylazobenzene, 2,4‐diamino‐1‐[(4′‐trifluoromethylphenoxy) phenyl] aniline, 3,5‐diamino‐1‐[(4′‐trifluoromethylphenoxy) phenyl] benzamide, 3,5‐diamino‐1‐[(3′‐trifluoromethyl) phenyl] benzamide, 1,4‐bis(4′‐aminophenoxy)‐2‐(3′‐trifluoromethylphenyl) benzene, 3,5‐diaminobenzenetrifluoride, 4,4′‐diamino‐4″‐(p‐trifluoromethyl phenoxy) triphenylamine, and 4‐[(4′‐trifluoromethylphenoxy) phenyl]‐2,6‐bis(4″‐aminophenyl)pyridine. Strong and flexible copolyimide films, produced by casting the polyamic acid solution followed by thermal imidization, exhibited great thermal stability and high mechanical properties. The polyimides had an ultraviolet–visible absorption cutoff at 330–340 nm and pretilt angles as high as 20° for nematic liquid crystals, making them great potential candidates for advanced liquid‐crystal display applications. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Mesure de l'Anisotropie des Indices de Réfraction des Cristaux Liquides: Interpretation des Différences Observées lors de I'Utilisation des Diverses Méthodes

Les différences observées dans la mesure des indices et des biréfrignences dans les cristaux liquides, lors de l'utilisation de deux séries de méthodes: utilisation de cuve prismatique à longueur d'onde fixe ou de cuves à faces parallèles à longueur d'onde variable sont relevées et confirmées.     

Ferroelectric liquid crystals from banana-shaped achiral molecules with vinyl end groups

Banana-shaped achiral compounds, the 1,3-phenylene bis[4-(alkenyloxyphenyliminomethyl)benzoate]s, were synthesized with varying length of the alkenyl group; their ferroelectric properties are described. The smectic mesophases, including a switchable chiral smectic C (SmC*) phase, were characterized by differential scanning calorimetry, polarizing optical microscopy and the triangular wave method. The presence of vinyl groups at the ends of the linear side-wings in the banana-shaped achiral molecules, containing a Schiff's base mesogen, induced a decrease in melting temperature and formation of the switchable SmC* phase in the melt. The compound having the octenyloxy group exhibited a spontaneous polarization of 120 nC cm^?2 on reversal of an applied electric field.

This paper overviews some display technologies which play main roles on today＇s display market. And new technologies which may be used for tomorrow＇s display technologies have been discussed. New technologies will boost the development of display technologies.     

Angular multiplexed holographic memory system based on moving window on liquid crystal display and its crosstalk analysis

We suggested a new non-mechanical angular multiplexed holographic memory system using a moving window, which was fabricated by controlling the pixels of a liquid crystal display (LCD) electronically. If we use light passed through the window left and right, and up and down, each window makes a reference wave with a different incidence angle and we can store angular-multiplexed holograms. The feasibility of the proposed method was demonstrated through optical experiments and its crosstalk noise analysis was also presented.
