A note on the unsteady boundary layers over a flat plate

The unsteady boundary layer over a semi-infinite flat plate was investigated in this paper. The flow involves the unsteady flow over a flat plate with leading edge accretion or ablation. The momentum boundary layer was further analyzed and it was shown that the leading edge ablation had a similar effect to the wall mass injection or upstream wall movement making the fluid blown away from the wall. The thermal boundary layer of the same flow was also studied. Results show that the leading edge accretion or ablation can greatly change the fluid motion and the heat transfer characteristics.     

Gauss-Manin connections for arrangements, III Formal connections

We study the Gauss-Manin connection for the moduli space of an arrangement of complex hyperplanes in the cohomology of a complex rank one local system. We define formal Gauss-Manin connection matrices in the Aomoto complex and prove that, for all arrangements and all local systems, these formal connection matrices specialize to Gauss-Manin connection matrices.

     

The moduli space of flat SU (2) and SO (3) connections over surfaces

All the connected components of the moduli space of flat connections on SU (2) and SO (3) (trivial and non-trivial) bundles over closed oriented surfaces are determined. The symplectic structure and volumes of the non-maximal strata of the moduli space are also determined.     

Curvature of curvilinear 4-webs and pencils of one forms: Variation on a theorem of Poincaré, Mayrhofer and Reidemeister

A curvilinear d-web W = (F ₁ , . . . , F _d ) is a configuration of d curvilinear foliations F _i on a surface. When d = 3, Bott connections of the normal bundles of F _i extend naturally to equal affine connection, which is called Chern connection. For 3 < d, this is the case if and only if the modulus of tangents to the leaves of F _i at a point is constant. A d-web is associative if the modulus is constant and weakly associative if Chern connections of all 3-subwebs have equal curvature form. We give a geometric interpretation of the curvature form in terms of fake billiard in §2, and prove that a weakly associative d-web is associative if Chern connections of triples of the members are non flat, and then the foliations are defined by members of a pencil (projective linear family of dim 1) of 1-forms. This result completes the classification of weakly associative 4-webs initiated by Poincaré, Mayrhofer and Reidemeister for the flat case. In §4, we generalize the result for n + 2-webs of n-spaces. η-Invariant and Flat Vector Bundles

Abstract We present an alternate definition of the mod Z component of the Atiyah-Patodi-Singer η invariant associated to (not necessary unitary) flat vector bundles, which identifies explicitly its real and imaginary parts. Difference discrete connection and curvature on cubic lattice Dedicated to Professor Sheng GONG on the occasion of his 75th birthday

In a way similar to the continuous case formally, we define in different but equivalent manners the difference discrete connection and curvature on discrete vector bundle over the regular lattice as base space. We deal with the difference operators as the discrete counterparts of the derivatives based upon the differential calculus on the lattice. One of the definitions can be extended to the case over the random lattice. We also discuss the relation between our approach and the lattice gauge theory and apply to the discrete integrable systems.

本文讨论了半连续格的一些性质,在半连续格中引入半Scott开集族,用半Scott开集族来刻画半连续格,同时定义了半连续格之间的半连续映射,得到闭包算子的像仍是半连续格的条件.最后,研究了半连续格上的半连续映射的全体不动点之集的性质。
