A self-referencing, optical modulation technique was used to measure the negative luminescence efficiencies of an array of mid-wave infrared HgCdTe photodiodes with cutoff wavelength 4.6 μm as a function of sample temperature. The internal efficiency at a wavelength of 4 μm was 93% at 295 K, and nearly independent of temperature in the 240–300 K range. This corresponds to an apparent temperature reduction >50 K at room temperature and >30 K at 240 K. Moreover, the reverse-bias saturation current density was only 0.13 A/cm2. The measured transmission and emission spectra were simulated using empirical HgCdTe absorption formulas from the literature. 相似文献

For certain applications of galvanized steel protected with conversion coatings it is important that the surface is electrically conductive. This is especially important with mating surfaces for electromagnetic compatibility. This paper addresses electrical conductivity of chromate conversion coatings. A cross-matrix study using different zinc plating techniques by different labs showed that the main deciding factor is the type of zinc-plating bath used rather than the subsequent chromating process. Thus, chromated zinc plate electrodeposited from cyanide baths is non-conductive while that from alkaline (non-cyanide) and acid baths is conductive, even though the plate from all the bath types is conductive before conversion coating. The results correlate well with the microscopic structure of the surfaces as observed with scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and could be further corroborated and rationalized using EDX and Auger spectroscopies. 相似文献

Theoretical concerns about the use of cemented and press-fit stems in revision total knee arthroplasty (TKA) include stress
shielding with adverse effects on prosthesis fixation. Radiological studies have showed distal femoral bone resorption after
revision TKA. The revision with use of stems can place abnormal stresses. These stresses can promote the effect of bone stress
shielding and may contribute to bone loss. Experimental quantification of strain shielding in the distal synthetic femur following
TKA is the main purpose of the present study. Three different constructs of TKA were assessed. The first construct included
a stemless femoral component. The other two included a press-fit and a cemented femoral stem. Cortical bone strains were measured
experimentally with tri-axial strain gauges in synthetic femurs before and after in-vitro knee surgery. The difference between
principal strains of implanted and intact femur was calculated for each strain gauge position. This study indicates that the
use of stems in distal femur changes the distribution and magnitude of bone strains. The press-fit stem provoked relevant
bone area (stem length) subjected to strain shielding and also originated the highest reduction of strains in the distal region,
which can potentially induce bone resorption. The stemless implanted femur produced minor bone strain changes relatively to
the intact femur. The use of distal femur stems increases initial stability in the bone, but the observed reduction of strains
in this region, relative to the intact femur, provokes strain shielding that can induce bone resorption and may compromise

Summary
Ab initio calculations of parameters which characterize the NMR spectrum are presented for the cyclopropene molecule. The London orbitals CHF (or GIAO-CHF, Gauge-Independent Atomic Orbital Coupled Hartree-Fock) results for the shielding constants are in good agreement with the experimental data, accurately determined, and with otherab initio values. The calculations of the NMR spin-spin coupling constants have been performed using the Multiconfiguration Time-Dependent Hartree-Fock (MC TDHF) approach. Different basis sets and MC SCF wavefunctions were used to estimate the accuracy of the results. Results of permittivity measurements, electromagnetic interference shielding effectiveness, and heat generation due to microwave absorption in conducting polymer coated textiles are reported and discussed. The intrinsically conducting polymer, polypyrrole, doped with anthraquinone-2-sulfonic acid (AQSA) or para-toluene-2-sulfonic acid (pTSA) was applied on textile substrates and the resulting materials were investigated in the frequency range 1-18 GHz. The 0.54 mm thick conducting textile/polypyrrole composites absorbed up to 49.5% of the incident 30-35 W microwave radiation. A thermography station was used to monitor the temperature of these composites during the irradiation process, where absorption was confirmed via visible heat losses. Samples with lower conductivity showed larger temperature increases caused by microwave absorption compared to samples with higher conductivity. A sample with an average sheet resistivity of 150 Ω/sq. showed a maximum temperature increase of 5.27 °C, whilst a sample with a lower resistivity (105 Ω/sq.) rose by 3.85 °C. 相似文献

The composites with nano-particles of Ni-Fe alloys dispersed on the nano-layers of expanded graphite (EG) were prepared by the impregnation of EG with ethanol solutions of nickel and iron acetates, followed by drying and reduction in H2. The square nano-particles of Ni-Fe alloys with particle sizes of mainly 20~40 nm were found to be well spread on the layers of EG. The alloy nano-particles exhibited high shielding effectiveness (SE) for electromagnetic radiations at low frequencies due to their high magnetic conductivity. Since EG is electronically conductive and displayed high SE at high frequencies, the composites exhibited good SE at wide range of frequencies. The electric and magnetic conductivities of the composites could be monitored through regulating the loadings of alloy nano-particles on EG, and it was found that the composites with 20%~40% of the alloys exhibited good SE. Specifically, the composite 27%Ni-3%Fe-EG showed the excellent SE from 66 to 110 dB at the frequencies from 300 kHz to 1.5 GHz. 相似文献
