The scattering of heavy ion with a multilevel Rydberg atom in the presence of an electromagnetic field is studied. The interaction
of Rydberg atom and the e.m field is explored using non-perturbative quasi-energy technique. Although the results are presented
for selected excitations but in actual calculations we have included many levels of the atom. The effect of various parameters
are shown on collisional excitation process. As an illustration detailed calculations are performed for the inelastic proton-Na
Rydberg atom collision accompanied by the transfer of photons and the effects of dressing due to the field are considered.
The emphasis of the present work is on collision induced transitions especially the case that involves change of orbital as
well as principal quantum number.

Summary Characteristics of optimal solutions under nonlinear buckling constraints are investigated by using a bar-spring model. It is demonstrated that optimization under buckling constraints of a symmetric system often leads to a structure with hill-top branching, where a limit point and bifurcation points coincide. A general formulation is derived for imperfection sensitivity of the critical load factor corresponding to a hill-top branching point. It is shown that the critical load is not imperfection-sensitive even for the case where an asymmetric bifurcation point exists at the limit point. 相似文献

Nanosized Fe0.2Ni0.8 particles were prepared by reducing their salts with sodium borohydride (NaBH4) in cationic water-in-oil (w/o) microemulsions of water/cetyl-trimethyl-amonium bromide (CTAB) and n-butanol/isooctane at 25 °C. According to the TEM and X-ray diffraction analyses, the synthesized particles were around 4–12 nm in size. Due to their nanodimensions, the particles had a primitive cubic (pc) structure rather than the body-centered cubic (BCC) structure of the bulk material. An examination of the synthesis from the reverse micelle reveals that the morphology of the iron–nickel alloy nanoparticles depends mainly on the microemulsion's composition. The magnetization of the nanoparticles was much lower than that of the bulk material, reflecting the influence of the nanodimensions on the particles’ magnetizations. 相似文献

This work develops the dynamics of a perfectly elastic solid model for application to the outer crust of a magnetised neutron
star. Particular attention is given to the Noether identities responsible for energy-momentum conservation, using a formulation
that is fully covariant, not only (as is usual) in a fully relativistic treatment but also (sacrificing accuracy and elegance
for economy of degrees of gravitational freedom) in the technically more complicated case of the Newtonian limit. The results
are used to obtain explicit (relativistic and Newtonian) formulae for the propagation speeds of generalised (Alfven type)

A composition spread metal thin film fabrication technique based on ion beam sputter deposition method was developed. The technique enables us to fabricate any desired part or a complete binary/ternary composition spread metal thin films onto a single substrate by sequentially sputtering different target materials. Composition spread metal thin films can be deposited directly on a dielectric film in patterned electrode shape for C-V and I-V measurements. Elastic rod models provide a means to interpret single molecule DNA experiments as well as predict DNA behavior under physiological conditions. Here we use an elastic rod model to predict the stability boundary (critical torque vs. applied tension) for single molecule DNA experiments in which the molecule is subjected to applied tension and twist. We discuss the shortcomings of the usual isotropic rod model. We then derive a consistent non-linear material law from the general representation for a hemitropic (chiral) rod. Finally, we present results of a standard bifurcation analysis predicting the stability boundary. We find results from the non-linear hemitropic rod to match the data closely. 相似文献
