Quantitative analysis of the brightener component bis (sodium-sulfopropyl) disulfide (SPS) in acidic copper plating baths poses a real challenge due to the complex chemical matrix containing large amounts of Cu(II) ion and sulfuric acid together with other organic additives and additive decomposition products. We developed a new ion-pair chromatography method to analyze micro-molar amounts of SPS directly in plating bath samples without the need for sample pre-treatment. Addition of tetra-N-methylammonium cation as ion-pairing agent to a methanol-sulfuric acid-water eluent increases the retention time of the anionic SPS2- on a C18 column sufficiently to separate this compound from Cu(II) ion and additive by-products. 相似文献

The peroxyoxalate-chemiluminescence arising from reaction of bis(2,4,6-trichlorophenyl)oxalate with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of a brightener Tinopal CBS (2,2′-((1,1′-biphenyl)-4,4′-diyldi-2.1-ethenediyl)bisbenzene sulfonic acid, disodium salt) has been studied. The relationship between the chemiluminescence intensity and concentrations of bis(2,4,6-trichlorophenyl)oxalate, sodium salicylate (as catalyst), hydrogen peroxide and Tinopal CBS is reported. The chemiluminescence parameters including intensity at maximum chemiluminescence, time at maximum intensity, total light yield, theoretical maximum level of intensity and pseudo-first-order rate constants for the rise and fall of the chemiluminescence burst (kr and kf) were evaluated from computer fitting of the resulting intensity-time plots. The activation parameters Ea, ΔH‡, ΔS‡ and ΔG‡ for the rise and fall steps were evaluated from the temperature dependence of kr and kf values. The results were discussed in terms of chemically initiated electron transfer between a reactive intermediate and Tinopal CBS as fluorescence activator. A possible mechanism involving dioxetanone derivatives as intermediates is proposed. Since there is a linear relationship between reciprocal of chemiluminescence intensity and reciprocal of fluorescer concentration, an analytical method based on partial least squares (PLS) regression was proposed for quantitative determination of Tinopal CBS. Satisfactory results were obtained with percent relative prediction error (RPE%) of 2.52 and detection limit of 2.7×10−5 M. 相似文献

Pure nickel (Ni) was electrodeposited onto a copper (Cu) substrate from choline chloride-urea (1:2 molar ratio) eutectic-based ionic liquid (1:2 ChCl-urea IL) with 0-1200 mg/L additions of nicotinic acid (NA). The effect of NA on the voltammetric behavior of Ni (II) was investigated by cyclic voltammetry, whilst the nucleation/growth of Ni deposits was studied by chronoamperometry. The resultant surface morphologies and microstructures of the Ni coatings were revealed by SEM/EDXS, XRD and TEM, demonstrating that NA can inhibit, hence tailor, the Ni deposition and serve as a very effective brightener producing highly uniform and smooth Ni deposits. The nucleation/growth process of Ni was not affected by the presence of NA, proceeding via three-dimensional instantaneous nucleation. NA has a profound grain refining effect with a grain size of ∼4.2 nm achievable. 相似文献
