The Aharonov-Bohm effect (ABE) for steady magnetic fields is a well known phenomenon. However, if the current in the infinite solenoid that creates the magnetic field is time-dependent, that is in the presence of both magnetic and electric fields, there is no agreement whether the effect would be present. In this note, we try to investigate time varying ABE by a direct calculation in a set-up with a weak time dependent magnetic field. We find that the electric field arising out of the time-varying magnetic field in the path of the electrons does not enter the action integral but only changes the path of the electron from the source to the slits and then on to the detector. We find a frequency dependent AB phase shift. At low frequencies the result smoothly approaches the one for a constant field as the frequency tends towards zero. On the other hand, for high frequencies such that the AB-phase induced in the path of the wave packet oscillates rapidly, the net effect will be very small which is borne out by our results. 相似文献

We have theoretically analyzed the quasibound states in a Mraphene quantum dot (GO, D) with a magnetic flux -φ in the centre. It is shown that the two-fold time reversal degeneracy is broken and the quasibound states of GQD with positive~negative angular momentum shifted upwards/downwards with increasing the magnetic flux. The variation of the quasibound energy depends linearly on the magnetic flux, which is quite different from the parabolic relationship for SchrSdinger electrons. The GQD's quasibound states spectrum shows an obvious Aharonov-Bohm (AB) oscillations with the magnetic flux. It is also shown that the quasibound state with energy equal to the barrier height becomes a bound state completely confined in GQD. 相似文献

in the framework of spin gauge theory developed earlier. The effect is predicted for both electrons (fermions) and photons.

We investigate the magnetic properties of the lattice of non-interacting quantum rings using the 2D rotator model. The exact analytic expressions for the free energy as well as for the magnetization and magnetic susceptibility are found and analyzed. It is shown that such a system can be considered as a system with antiferromagnetic-like properties. We have shown also that all observable quantities in this case (free energy, entropy, magnetization) are periodic functions of the magnetic flux through the ring's area (as well known, such a behavior is typical for the Aharonov-Bohm effect). For the lattice of quantum rings with two different geometric parameters we investigate the ordinary compensation points (“temperature compensation points”, i.e. points at which the magnetization vanishes at fixed values of the magnetic field strength). It is shown that the positions of compensation points in the temperature scale are very sensitive to small changes in the magnetic field strength. 相似文献

We obtain exact solutions of the Dirac equation in 2+1 dimensions and the electron energy spectrum in the superposition of
the Aharonov-Bohm and Coulomb potentials, which are used to study the Aharonov-Bohm effect for states with continuous and
discrete energy spectra. We represent the total scattering amplitude as the sum of amplitudes of scattering by the Aharonov-Bohm
and Coulomb potentials. We show that the gauge-invariant phase of the wave function or the energy of the electron bound state
can be observed. We obtain a formula for the scattering cross section of spin-polarized electrons scattered by the Aharonov-Bohm
potential. We discuss the problem of the appearance of a bound state if the interaction between the electron spin and the
magnetic field is taken into account in the form of the two-dimensional Dirac delta function.

We present a simple model of transmission across a metallic mesoscopic ring. In one of its arm an electron interacts with
a single magnetic impurity via an exchange coupling. We show that entanglement between electron and spin impurity states leads
to reduction of Aharonov-Bohm oscillations in the transmission coefficient. The spin-conductance is asymmetric in the flux
reversal as opposed to the two-probe electrical conductance which is symmetric. In the same model, in contradiction to the
naive expectation of a current magnification effect, we observe enhancement as well as suppression of this effect depending
on the system parameters. The limitations of this model to the general notion of dephasing or decoherence in quantum systems
