Spectral estimates for saddle point matrices arising in weak constraint four‐dimensional variational data assimilation

We consider the large sparse symmetric linear systems of equations that arise in the solution of weak constraint four‐dimensional variational data assimilation, a method of high interest for numerical weather prediction. These systems can be written as saddle point systems with a 3 × 3 block structure but block eliminations can be performed to reduce them to saddle point systems with a 2 × 2 block structure, or further to symmetric positive definite systems. In this article, we analyse how sensitive the spectra of these matrices are to the number of observations of the underlying dynamical system. We also obtain bounds on the eigenvalues of the matrices. Numerical experiments are used to confirm the theoretical analysis and bounds.

考察了一类带导数项的非线性Schrodinger方程的周期边值问题，提出了一种守恒的差分格式，在空间方向上采用Fourier谱方法，证明了格式的稳定性和收敛性．数值试验得到了与理论分析一致的结果．     

Banach空间二阶非线性微分方程的弱Carathéodory解

本文定义了二阶微分方程的弱 Carathéodory解 ,在不涉及紧型条件的情形下 ,直接用迭代法证明了 Banach空间二阶非线性常微分方程两点边值问题存在唯一解 ,并给出逼近解迭代序列的误差估计 ,对周期边值问题得到类似的结果     

Kthe-Bochner空间的凸性(英文)

本文利用Kothe函数空间的性质以及Kothe函数空间与Kothe-Bochner空间的关系,讨论了Kothe-Bochner空间E(X)的凸性,主要结果如下: (a)给出E(X)的端点的充分条件,得到了E(X)严格凸的判据,相应地推广了Lp(μ,X) 以及Lφ(X)的结果; (b)讨论了E(X)的弱局部一致凸和局部完全k-凸; (c)刻画了E(X)的强凸,给出了F(X)强凸的充要条件．     

On one generalization of a DiPerna and Majda theorem

The weak limits of sequences {f(u^ν)}_ν∈? where u^ν's are vector‐valued µ‐measurable functions defined on a compact set Ω and f is (possibly) discontinuous are investigated. As shown by the author (J. Conv. Anal. (to appear)), they are described in terms of integral formulae involving parametrized measures independent of f, similarly as in the classical theorem by Young and its generalization due to DiPerna and Majda. On fixed point and almost fixed point problems of lower semicontinuous type multivalued mappings

In the present paper, some new almost fixed point theorems and fixed point theorems for lower semicontinuous type multivalued mappings are obtained in metrizable H-spaces.
