In this paper we analyze the equilibrium limit of the constitutive model for two-phase granular mixtures introduced in Papalexandris (2004) [13], and develop an algorithm for its numerical approximation. At, equilibrium, the constitutive model reduces to a strongly coupled, overdetermined system of quasilinear elliptic partial differential equations with respect to the pressure and the volume fraction of the solid granular phase. First we carry a perturbation analysis based on standard hydrostatic-type scaling arguments which reduces the complexity of the coupling of the equations. The perturbed system is then supplemented by an appropriate compatibility condition which arises from the properties of the gradient operator. Further, based on the Helmholtz decomposition and Ladyzhenskaya’s decomposition theorem, we develop a projection-type, Successive-Over-Relaxation numerical method. This method is general enough and can be applied to a variety of continuum models of complex mixtures and mixtures with micro-structure. We also prove that this method is both stable and consistent hence, under standard assumptions, convergent. The paper concludes with the presentation of representative numerical results.  相似文献

We introduce and study a family of quantum fields, associated to δ-interactions in one dimension. These fields are analogous to holonomic quantum fields of Sato et al. in Holonomic quantum fields I–V (Publ. RIMS, Kyoto University, 14: 223–267, 1978; 15: 201–278, 1979; 15: 577–629, 1979; 15: 871-972, 1979; 16: 531–584, 1979). Corresponding field operators belong to an infinite-dimensional representation of the group in the Fock space of ordinary harmonic oscillator. We compute form factors of such fields and their correlation functions, which are related to the determinants of Schroedinger operators with a finite number of point interactions. It is also shown that these determinants coincide with tau functions, obtained through the trivialization of the det*-bundle over a Grassmannian associated to a family of Schroedinger operators.  相似文献

A method for computing the sensitivities of functionals depending on the solutions of elliptic equations defined over variable domains is presented. It is based on the material derivative approach and allows the uniform treatment of both singular and nonsingular cases. The novelty consists in defining the vector field connected with the domain transformation as the solution of an auxiliary elliptic equation. Such a choice does not restrict the range of admissible goal functionals and has many advantages from the numerical point of view. It allows one also to consider singular domain variations.  相似文献

We consider continuous-time hysteresis operators, defined to be causal and rate independent operators mapping input signals to output signals . We show how a hysteresis operator defined on the set of continuous piecewise monotone functions can be naturally extended to piecewise continuous piecewise monotone functions. We prove that the extension is also a hysteresis operator and that a number of important properties of the original operator are inherited by the extension. Moreover, we define the concept of a discrete-time hysteresis operator and we show that discretizing continuous-time hysteresis operators using standard sampling and hold operations leads to discrete-time hysteresis operators. We apply the concepts and results described above in the context of sampled-data feedback control of linear systems with input hysteresis.  相似文献

We study the system of nonlinear differential equations which expresses the constancy of the algebraic invariants of the Jacobian matrix for smooth vector fields in three-dimensional space. This system is equivalent to the equations of gas dynamics which describe the barochronous motions of a gas (the pressure and density depend only on the time). We present the results of computation of the admissible local Lie group and construction of the general solution of the system. We mention a few new problems that arise here.  相似文献
