We consider hypergroups associated with Jacobi functions () (x), (–1/2). We prove the existence of a dual convolution structure on [0,+[i(]0,s 0]{{) =++1,s 0=min(,–+1). Next we establish a Lévy-Khintchine type formula which permits to characterize the semigroup and the infinitely divisible probabilities associated with this dual convolution, finally we prove a central limit theorem.  相似文献

In this paper the problem of finding the design efficiency is considered when a single observation is unavailable in a connected binary block design. The explicit expression of efficiency is found for the resulting design when the original design is a balanced incomplete block design or a group divisible, singular or semiregular or regular with 1>0, design. The efficiency does not depend on the position of the unavailable observation. For a regular group divisible design with 1>0, the efficiency depends on the position of the unavailable observation. The bounds, both lower and upper, on the efficiency are given in this situation. In this article, we mainly consider the existence problem of a group divisible design GDD ( 3 , 4 , n + s ) of type 1 n s 1 . We present two recursive constructions for this configuration using candelabra systems and construct explicitly a few small examples admitting given automorphism groups. As an application, several new infinite classes of GDD ( 3 , 4 , n + s ) s of type 1 n s 1 are produced. Meanwhile a few new infinite families on candelabra quadruple systems with group sizes being odd and stem size greater than one are also obtained.  相似文献

Let D be an F-central division algebra of index n. Here we present a criterion for the triviality of the group G(D) = D*/Nrd D/F (D*)D′ and thus generalizing various related results published recently. To be more precise, it is shown that G(D) = 1 if and only if SK 1(D) = 1 and F *2 = F *2n . Using this, we investigate the role of some particular subgroups of D* in the algebraic structure of D. In this direction, it is proved that a division algebra D of prime index is a symbol algebra if and only if D* contains a non-abelian nilpotent subgroup. More applications of this criterion including the computation of G(D) and the structure of maximal subgroups of D* are also investigated  相似文献

A directed balanced incomplete block design (or D B(k,;v)) (X,) is called self-converse if there is an isomorphic mapping f from (X,) to (X,–1), where –1={B –1:B} and B –1=(x k ,x k –1,,x 2,x 1) for B=(x 1,x 2,,x k –1,x k ). Large sets of disjoint group‐divisible designs with block size three and type 2n41 were first studied by Schellenberg and Stinson because of their connection with perfect threshold schemes. It is known that such large sets can exist only for n ≡0 (mod 3) and do exist for all odd n ≡ (mod 3) and for even n=24m, where m odd ≥ 1. In this paper, we show that such large sets exist also for n=2k(3m), where m odd≥ 1 and k≥ 5. To accomplish this, we present two quadrupling constructions and two tripling constructions for a special large set called *LS(2n). © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We prove the existence of a cyclic (4p, 4, 1)-BIBD—and hence, equivalently, that of a cyclic (4, 1)-GDD of type 4 p —for any prime such that (p–1)/6 has a prime factor q not greater than 19. This was known only for q=2, i.e., for . In this case an explicit construction was given for . Here, such an explicit construction is also realized for .We also give a strong indication about the existence of a cyclic (4p 4, 1)-BIBD for any prime , p>7. The existence is guaranteed for p>(2q 3–3q 2+1)2+3q 2 where q is the least prime factor of (p–1)/6.Finally, we prove, giving explicit constructions, the existence of a cyclic (4, 1)-GDD of type 6 p for any prime p>5 and the existence of a cyclic (4, 1)-GDD of type 8 p for any prime . The result on GDD's with group size 6 was already known but our proof is new and very easy.All the above results may be translated in terms of optimal optical orthogonal codes of weight four with =1.  相似文献
