This work is concerned with the extension of the Jacobi spectral Galerkin method to a class of nonlinear fractional pantograph differential equations. First, the fractional differential equation is converted to a nonlinear Volterra integral equation with weakly singular kernel. Second, we analyze the existence and uniqueness of solutions for the obtained integral equation. Then, the Galerkin method is used for solving the equivalent integral equation. The error estimates for the proposed method are also investigated. Finally, illustrative examples are presented to confirm our theoretical analysis. 相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the evolution of joint invariants under invariant geometric flows using the theory of equivariant moving frames and the induced invariant discrete variational complex. For certain arc length preserving planar curve flows invariant under the special Euclidean group , the special linear group , and the semidirect group , we find that the induced evolution of the discrete curvature satisfies the differential‐difference mKdV, KdV, and Burgers' equations, respectively. These three equations are completely integrable, and we show that a recursion operator can be constructed by precomposing the characteristic operator of the curvature by a certain invariant difference operator. Finally, we derive the constraint for the integrability of the discrete curvature evolution to lift to the evolution of the discrete curve itself. 相似文献

Summary This paper is concerned with the problem of developing numerical integration algorithms for differential equations that, when
viewed as equations in some Euclidean space, naturally evolve on some embedded submanifold. It is desired to construct algorithms
whose iterates also evolve on the same manifold. These algorithms can therefore be viewed as integrating ordinary differential
equations on manifolds. The basic method “decouples” the computation of flows on the submanifold from the numerical integration
process. It is shown that two classes of single-step and multistep algorithms can be posed and analyzed theoretically, using
the concept of “freezing” the coefficients of differential operators obtained from the defining vector field. Explicit third-order
algorithms are derived, with additional equations augmenting those of their classical counterparts, obtained from “obstructions”

The multilevel generalized assignment problem is a problem of assigning agents to tasks where the agents can perform tasks at more than one efficiency level. A profit is associated with each assignment and the objective of the problem is profit maximization. Two heuristic solution methods are presented for the problem. The heuristics are developed from solution methods for the generalized assignment problem. One method uses a regret minimization approach whilst the other method uses a repair approach on a relaxation of the problem. The heuristics are able to solve moderately large instances of the problem rapidly and effectively. Procedures for deriving an upper bound on the solution of the problem are also described. On larger and harder instances of the problem one heuristic is particularly effective. 相似文献
