Convergence of solutions for the fractional Cahn–Hilliard system

This paper deals with the Cauchy–Dirichlet problem for the fractional Cahn–Hilliard equation. The main results consist of global (in time) existence of weak solutions, characterization of parabolic smoothing effects (implying under proper condition eventual boundedness of trajectories), and convergence of each solution to a (single) equilibrium. In particular, to prove the convergence result, a variant of the so-called ?ojasiewicz–Simon inequality is provided for the fractional Dirichlet Laplacian and (possibly) non-analytic (but $C^1$) nonlinearities.     

Decay rate for viscoelastic wave equation of variable coefficients with delay and dynamic boundary conditions

In this paper, we consider a viscoelastic wave equation of variable coefficients in the presence of past history with nonlinear damping and delay in the internal feedback and dynamic boundary conditions. Under suitable assumptions, we establish an explicit and general decay rate result without imposing restrictive assumption on the behavior of the relaxation function at infinity by Riemannian geometry method and Lyapunov functional method.     

The number of powers of 2 in a representation of large even integers II

It is proved that for any integerk≥ 54 000, there isN _k >0 depending onk only such that every even integer ≥N _k is a sum of two odd prime numbers andk powers of 2. Analogue Models of and for Gravity

Condensed matter systems, such as acoustics in flowing fluids, light in moving dielectrics, or quasiparticles in a moving superfluid, can be used to mimic aspects of general relativity. More precisely these systems (and others) provide experimentally accessible models of curved-space quantum field theory. As such they mimic kinematic aspects of general relativity, though typically they do not mimic the dynamics. Although these analogue models are thereby limited in their ability to duplicate all the effects of Einstein gravity they nevertheless are extremely important—they provide black hole analogues (some of which have already been seen experimentally) and lead to tests of basic principles of curved-space quantum field theory. Currently these tests are still in the realm of gedanken-experiments, but there are plausible candidate models that should lead to laboratory experiments in the not too distant future.     

Spontaneous magnetization of the Ising model on a 4–8 lattice

The spontaneous magnetization of the Ising model on a 4–8 lattice with six different coupling constants and two different magnetic moments is studied. A formula for the spontaneous magnetization is proposed. The result agrees with the exact low-temperature series expansions up to the 12th order.     

镧系金属一氢化物有效芯势研究

采用Cundari和Stevens等推导的有效芯势对镧系金属一氢化物进行了理论计算，以探讨镧系金属元素与氢的相互作用。结果表明所有镧系金属一氢化物基态时理论上是稳定的，最稳定的是SmH,最不稳定的是DyH;键长计算结果显示，基态时镧系金属一招兵买马花物有独立王国 收缩现象发生；红外振动频率理论计算值与实验结果一致；成键轨道中，金属原子轨道的贡献主要是s轨道和d轨道：从CeH至ErH(GdH)例外）随着外层电子的增加s轨道成分逐渐增大d轨道成分逐渐减小；从TmH和LuH（包括GdH)，成键轨道中金属原子轨道的贡献主要是d轨道，约为90％；约大多数镧系金属一氧化物的成键轨道中金属原子轨道f成分小于1％。

Harmonic mappings of the Sierpinski gasket to the circle

Harmonic mappings from the Sierpinski gasket to the circle are described explicitly in terms of boundary values and topological data. In particular, all such mappings minimize energy within a given homotopy class. Explicit formulas are also given for the energy of the mapping and its normal derivatives at boundary points.

     

Stability Properties of Feynman's Operational Calculus for Exponential Functions of Noncommuting Operators

Stability properties of Feynman's operational calculus are addressed in the setting of exponential functions of noncommuting operators. Applications of some of the stability results are presented. In particular, the time-dependent perturbation theory of nonrelativistic quantum mechanics is presented in the setting of the operational calculus and application of the stability results of this paper to the perturbation theory are discussed.
