A primer on perfect simulation for spatial point processes

This primer provides a self-contained exposition of the case where spatial birth-and-death processes are used for perfect simulation of locally stable point processes. Particularly, a simple dominating coupling from the past (CFTP) algorithm and the CFTP algorithms introduced in [13], [14], and [5] are studied. An analytical solution of a linearized problem of the emission of periodic internal waves by part of a plane which oscillates with a small amplitude in an arbitrary direction in a viscous exponentially stratified fluid is constructed. Solutions of the dispersion equation are given for all positions of the emitting surface (arbitrary, vertical, horizontal, and critical when one of the beam propagation directions is collinear with the emitting surface). The possibility of transition to the case of a uniform fluid, which is important for applications, is analyzed.     

Analytical Study of Nonlinear Dust Acoustic Waves in Two-Dimensional Dust Plasma with Dust Charge Variation

The nonlinear dust acoustic waves in two-dimensional dust plasma with dust charge variation is analytically investigated by using the formally variable separation approach. New analytical solutions for the governing equation of this system have been obtained for dust acoustic waves in a dust plasma for the first time. We derive exact analytical expressions for the general case of the nonlinear dust acoustic waves in two-dimensional dust plasma with dust charge variation.     

带惩罚项与随机输入的BP神经网络在线梯度学习算法的收敛性

本文对三层BP神经网络中带有惩罚项的在线梯度学习算法的收敛性问题进行了研究,在网络训练每一轮开始执行之前,对训练样本随机进行重排,以使网络学习更容易跳出局部极小,文中给出了误差函数的单调性定理以及该算法的弱收敛和强收敛性定理。     

Extended convergence results for the method of multipliers for nonstrictly binding inequality constraints

In this paper, we extend the classical convergence and rate of convergence results for the method of multipliers for equality constrained problems to general inequality constrained problems, without assuming the strict complementarity hypothesis at the local optimal solution. Instead, we consider an alternative second-order sufficient condition for a strict local minimum, which coincides with the standard one in the case of strict complementary slackness. As a consequence, new stopping rules are derived in order to guarantee a local linear rate of convergence for the method, even if the current Lagrangian is only asymptotically minimized in this more general setting. These extended results allow us to broaden the scope of applicability of the method of multipliers, in order to cover all those problems admitting loosely binding constraints at some optimal solution. This fact is not meaningless, since in practice this kind of problem seems to be more the rule rather than the exception.In proving the different results, we follow the classical primaldual approach to the method of multipliers, considering the approximate minimizers for the original augmented Lagrangian as the exact solutions for some adequate approximate augmented Lagrangian. In particular, we prove a general uniform continuity property concerning both their primal and their dual optimal solution set maps, a property that could be useful beyond the scope of this paper. This approach leads to very simple proofs of the preliminary results and to a straight-forward proof of the main results.The author gratefully acknowledges the referees for their helpful comments and remarks. By means of a direct and constructive method based on the theory of semi‐global C² solution, the local exact boundary observability and an implicit duality between the exact boundary controllability and the exact boundary observability are shown for 1‐D quasilinear wave equations with various boundary conditions. We give an account of the appearance and first developments of the statistical model of atoms proposed by Thomas and Fermi, focusing on the main results achieved by Fermi and his group in Rome. Particular attention is addressed to the unknown contribution to this subject by Majorana, anticipating some important results reached later by leading physicists.
