A profit-maximizing supply chain network design model with demand choice flexibility

We present a profit-maximizing supply chain design model in which a company has flexibility in determining which customers to serve. The company may lose a customer to competition if the price it charges is too high. We show the problem formulation and solution algorithm, and discuss computational results.

Visions: The coming revolutions in particle physics

We study the branching ratio, CP-violating asymmetry, forward-backward asymmetry and the CP-violating asymmetry in the forward-backward asymmetry for the exclusive decay B → Kτ⁺τ⁻ in the two Higgs doublet model with tree level flavor changing neutral currents (model III). We analyse the dependencies of these quantities on the neutral Higgs boson contributions and the CP parameter sinθ in the model III. We observe that to determine the neutral Higgs boson effects, the measurements of the forward-backward asymmetry and the CP-violating asymmetry in the forward-backward asymmetry for the decay B → Kτ⁺τ⁻ are promising.     

On CCE graphs of doubly partial orders

Let D be a digraph. The competition-common enemy graph (CCE graph) of D has the same set of vertices as D and an edge between vertices u and v if and only if there are vertices w and x in D such that (w,u), (w,v), (u,x), and (v,x) are arcs of D. We call a graph a CCE graph if it is the CCE graph of some digraph. In this paper, we show that if the CCE graph of a doubly partial order does not contain C₄ as an induced subgraph, it is an interval graph. We also show that any interval graph together with enough isolated vertices is the CCE graph of some doubly partial order.     

The polysaccharide extracts from the fungi Coprinus comatus and Coprinellus truncorum do exhibit AChE inhibitory activity

The polysaccharide (PSH) extracts from the edible mushroom species Coprinus comatus and Coprinellus truncorum were screened in liquid for their acetylcholinesterase inhibitory (AChE) activity. Both extracts were found to display inhibition of the aforementioned enzyme reaching similar IC₅₀ values of 0.62 ± 0.07 and 0.61 ± 0.03 mg/mL, respectively. According to the means of FTIR spectroscopy, these PSH extracts mostly contained β-glucans. However, the presence of some proteins and polyphenolics as minor ingredients were also detected. Compared with existing literature data for anti-AChE activity of the sugar samples, the findings within this study may be treated as a profound bioactivity. Consequently, this study puts some light on the possible use of the screened macrofungi in the palliative treatment of Alzheimer’s disease.     

溴碘化银薄片乳剂颗粒中碘离子分布对潜影分散的影响

碘溴化银乳剂薄片颗粒的潜影分散与碘离子在颗粒中的分布有关。本文用交叉光楔曝光技术测定了由次潜影造成的潜影分散,并根据所测出的潜影分散度和乳剂的表面感光度,对内、表敏的分布作了分析。结果表明,碘离子分布在颗粒边缘的乳剂,其表面潜影分散度要比碘离子均匀分布的颗粒更甚,后者且表现出内、表敏度竞争的现象。     

Abstract functions with continuous differences and Namioka spaces

This led us to introduce new classes of semigroups containing all complete metric and locally countably compact quasitopological groups. In this paper we study these classes and explore their relation with Namioka spaces.

     

Comparison of tridentate ligands in competition experiments for their ability to form a [Tc(CO)3] complex

In this study we have compared different ligands containing three or more hetero-atoms (N, O and/or S) with respect to their ability to form tridentate complexes with a Tc-tricarbonyl moiety. Comparison of each ligand in a competition reaction with histidine first and then with each other compound allowed to rank the ligands according to their ability of complex formation with the [^99mTc(CO)₃]⁺ precursor from diethylenetriamine (most efficient of the studied ligands) to nitrilotriacetic acid (weakest complexing properties). The results provide insight in the structural requirements for the formation of stable Tc-tricarbonyl complexes and suggest preferred combinations and arrangements of the hetero-atoms involved in the complex formation. They also give a good indication which type of ligand is most appropriate to modify biomolecules for an efficient and stable labelling with a Tc-tricarbonyl moiety.     

The identification of tricyclic neuroleptics and sulphonamides by high-performance thin-layer chromatography

Circular high-performance thin-layer chromatography (HPTLC) has been used to differentiate a series of twelve tricyclic neuroleptics, using both normal phase and reverse phase procedures. The use of normal phase systems also allows the resolution of geometric isomers of chlorprothixene, clopenthixol and flupenthixol. Thirteen sulphonamides and Trirnethoprim may also be distinguished using HPTLC.
