Three-dimensional integrable models and associated tangle invariants

In this paper we show that the Boltzmann weights of the three-dimensional Baxter-Bazhanov model give representations of the braid group if some suitable spectral limits are taken. In the trigonometric case we classify all possible spectral limits which produce braid group representations. Furthermore, we prove that for some of them we get cyclotomic invariants of links and for others we obtain tangle invariants generalizing the cyclotomic ones.     

On Set-Theoretical Solutions to Quantum Yang-Baxter Equation

The problem on the set-theoretical solutions to the quantum Yang-Baxter equation was presented byDrinfel'd as a main unsolved problem in quantum group theory. The set-theoretical solutions are a natural extensionof the usual (linear) solutions. In this paper, we not only give a further study on some known set-theoretical solutions(the Venkov's solutions), but also find a new kind of set-theoretical solutions which have a geometric interpretation.Moreover, the new solutions lead to the metahomomorphisms in group theory.     

On Frobenius algebras and the quantum Yang-Baxter equation

It is shown that every Frobenius algebra over a commutative ring determines a class of solutions of the quantum Yang-Baxter equation, which forms a subbimodule of its tensor square. Moreover, this subbimodule is free of rank one as a left (right) submodule. An explicit form of a generator is given in terms of the Frobenius homomorphism. It turns out that the generator is invertible in the tensor square if and only if the algebra is Azumaya.

     

General constructions of biquandles and their symmetries

Biquandles are algebraic objects with two binary operations whose axioms encode the generalized Reidemeister moves for virtual knots and links. These objects also provide set theoretic solutions of the well-known Yang-Baxter equation. The first half of this paper proposes some natural constructions of biquandles from groups and from their simpler counterparts, namely, quandles. We completely determine all words in the free group on two generators that give rise to (bi)quandle structures on all groups. We give some novel constructions of biquandles on unions and products of quandles, including what we refer as the holomorph biquandle of a quandle. These constructions give a wealth of solutions of the Yang-Baxter equation. We also show that for nice quandle coverings a biquandle structure on the base can be lifted to a biquandle structure on the covering. In the second half of the paper, we determine automorphism groups of these biquandles in terms of associated quandles showing elegant relationships between the symmetries of the underlying structures.     

Integrable boundary conditions for the B_2 model

New integrable B_2 model with off-diagonal boundary reflections is proposed. The general solutions of the reflection matrix for the B_2 model are obtained by using the fusion technique. Wefind that the reflection matrix has 7 free boundary parameters, which are used to describe the degree of freedom of boundary couplings, without breaking the integrability of the system. The new quantization conditions will induce the novel structure of the energy spectrum and the boundary states. The corresponding boundary effects can be studied based on the results in this paper. Meanwhile, the reflection matrix of high rank models associated with Bnalgebra can also be obtained by using the method suggested in this paper.     

On <Emphasis Type="Italic">osp</Emphasis>(<Emphasis Type="Italic">M</Emphasis>∣2<Emphasis Type="Italic">n</Emphasis>) Integrable Open Spin Chains

We consider open spin chains based on osp(M2n) Yangians and solve the reflection equations for some classes of reflection matrices, including the diagonal ones. Having then integrable open spin chains, we write the analytical Bethe Ansatz equations. More details and references can be found in D. Arnaudon et al.: Nucl. Phys B 668 (2003) 469 and 687 (2004) 257.     

A class of solutions to the quantum colored Yang-Baxter equation

In this paper, we give a new method to solve the quantum colored Yang-Baxter matrix equation (QCYBE), and a class of solutions to the QCYBE is given.     

Chiral Potts model as a descendant of the six-vertex model

We observe that theN-state integrable chiral Potts model can be considered as a part of some new algebraic structure related to the six-vertex model. As a result, we obtain a functional equation which is supposed to determine all the eigenvalues of the chiral Potts model transfer matrix.     

Projections of weak braided Hopf algebras
