Convex functions, subdifferentiability and renormings

This paper through discussing subdifferentiability and convexity of convex functions shows that a Banach space admits an equivalent uniformly [locally uniformly, strictly] convex norm if and only if there exists a continuous uniformly [locally uniformly, strictly] convex function on some nonempty open convex subset of the space and presents some characterizations of super-reflexive Banach spaces. Chern and Pontryagin Numbers in Perfect Symmetries of Spheres

The paper presents a procedure for constructing smooth actions of finite perfect groups on spheres with fixed point sets having certain prescribed properties (Theorem A); in particular, having any prescribed configuration of Chern and Pontryagin numbers (Corollary C). The main ingredients used are equivariant thickening and equivariant surgery.     

Orbifolds, Sheaves and Groupoids

We characterize orbifolds in terms of their sheaves, and show that orbifolds correspond exactly to a specific class of smooth groupoids. As an application, we construct fibered products of orbifolds and prove a change-of-base formula for sheaf cohomology.     

The strong relaxation limit of the multidimensional isothermal Euler equations

We construct global smooth solutions to the multidimensional isothermal Euler equations with a strong relaxation. When the relaxation time tends to zero, we show that the density converges towards the solution to the heat equation.

     

K-非常凸空间

本文引入了一种新的K凸空间K-非常凸空间,及其对偶空间K-非常光滑空间,它们分别是非常凸空间和非常光滑空间的推广但又严格弱于非常凸空间和非常光滑空间,因此它们又有许多独特的性质.本文讨论了它们的一些特性及与其它K凸性和K光滑性的关系,推广了[3]、[6]、[7]、[8]中的一些结果.     

D∞-APPROXIMATION OF PRODUCT VARIATIONS OF TWO PARAMETER SMOOTH SEMIMARTINGALES

Let X be a two parameter smooth semimartingale and (~X) be its process of the product variation. It is proved that (~X) can be approximated as D∞-limit of sums of its discrete product variations as the mesh of division tends to zero. Moreover, this result can be strengthen to yield the quasi sure convergence of sums by estimating the speed of the convergence.
